Slide dragging

We have a 2005 3400 and when we read that fellow MOCers were having problems with water coming in around retracted slides we checked ours and, sure enough, we could see daylight under the slides. No wonder it's always been so dusty inside!

Called Keystone customer service and spoke with Brandon, a supervisor. He said to take "Monty" in to be checked. We were told that the rubber around the slides was not installed (too short & not glued) correctly.

We were also informed that the kitchen slideout is lower on the refrigerator side and dragging across the kitchen floor.

Now Brandon says Keystone won't correct the problems and we should have had them corrected during the first year we owned it. We don't think it shouldn't have left the factory that way! So now were stuck!

Is there an adjustment we can do to realign the slide so it's level?

Hold on while MIMF catches up to this post, or look him up in members and give him a PM. While you wait you might want to do some searches here and in archives (front page, right side, yellow boxes). You will see why I suggest MIMF (also known as MIMF2)

Had the same problems dealer installed covers in corners to keep water out, also suppose to fix kit. slide but fix lasted one trip. All he did was cut off trim on bottom. I ended up following the directions in the manual and fixed it myself.

What manual? It would be great if we could DIY not to mention saving a ton of money! We were quoted $700+ to adjust the slides and replace the rubber.

And just to add salt to the wounds when we were having the remote thermostat changed out for the Comfort Control Center the technician put his tools on top of the retracted entertainment slide without my husband's knowledge. He left to get something and said the slide needed to be extended so he could get to the wall thermostat. Opening the slide with the tools on top tore a big gash in the rubber roof. The owner of the shop refused to pay for repairs because he said my husband pushed the button so it waas his fault! The tech. felt so bad that he volunteered to repair it for free if we provided the materials.

We're both still in shock over this one!
