Another DAH! moment

Been plugging in my RV periodically throughout the winter, so I wouldn't have to take the battery out. Checked the battery the other day while getting it ready for inspection and the battery was dead. Plugged in the RV and took a voltage reading agross the poles and nothing, then it dawned on me, I hadn't turned on the battery disconect switch, nor did I over the winter. Flipped the switch and had voltage.

Moral of the story, don't forget to turn the switch on.

Experience, positive or negative, is a great teacher. Wisdom is applied when learning from others mistakes. Thanks for sharing.

I'll bet we can all tell stories about dumb things we have done! I once spent a couple of hours trying to figure out why I had no running water, until I realized my city water hose was hooked to the the Tank Flush.

HA! I changed the oil in my tow vehicle a few years ago. Drained the old oil into a nice new oil drain pan. Ate my lunch while oil drained. Poured new oil into engine and was about to start it up when I saw oil all over the driveway.......I FORGOT TO PUT THE DRAIN PLUG BACK IN! Six quarts of good, clean oil wasted. And a mess to deal with. Talk about a DUH moment. We all have 'em.

Been there and done that with the battery disconnect. Still have to think when I look at it. To my way of thinking Off should mean the power is Off, but that's just me.

That certainly could have been a lot worse; what if you had a diesel? We've all had our moments!

Slufot643 reflected on something that happened "a few years ago". Didn't say he had a diesel then. That would really have been a mess, and worth a cuss word or two.
