Hello everyone! Been a long time since we last camped, but recently picked up '02 2850RK as our first fifth wheel. Really looking forward to the spring and to get out and start enjoying our new purchase.

We started our camping adventures back in the late '80s with a pop-up and then graduated to a small bumper pull. Then because of the normal moving requirements of being in the military we decided to sell (coast to coast move). After that move life seemed to get to busy (teenage kids). Now nearing retirement from a second career the wife and I decided we need to start a new hobby. Bought the used unit to see if we can once again get back into camping without a major investment.

I have been lurking around this forum for a few weeks and it looks like there is a lot of good information here.

Thanks,
Jeff and Deb Smith

Welcome to the forum from Arizona. We did the same with buying an older used rig to test the waters. We are now on our third rig. Have lots of fun and be safe.

Welcome from an ex-CT inhabitant. Last lived in Mystic and worked in Groton. Got out of Dodge when I retired and moved to TN. Started another job and bought a MHC. That's how I found these great people. I am sure that you will happy that you found this place. Enjoy.

Welcome to the group. Be forwarned that if you hang around with this crowd long enough it could get expensive. Ask me how I know. But you will enjoy the whole experience.

Also had 2850rk

I just sold by 2850RK. It was a very reliable unit. Had no major problems. You will like it very much. I had mine for about 6 yrs. Only problems were replaced the water heater (myself) and miner leak at the TV antenna.
Good luck and enjoy

Welcome Jeff and Deb
I have owned a 02 2850RK since new and it has been a great trailer. The main issue I had with it was the hydraulic pump. The reservoir leaked and there were no replacements so I had to buy a new $1000 pump. Luckily I also have a 2014 318RE that I use for long trips so I wasn't too inconvenienced. Hopefully your pump has already been replaced with the new/improved one. Enjoy!!
