Drip!

I woke up this morning before 6:00AM after being dripped on in bed. Big storm going on outside. The drip came down from a seam in the ceiling panels. My guess is that it came from the batwing base, which it directly upstream from the drip, and flowed downhill to the seam. Has anyone had a similar situation? Jim

If you suspect the batwing the first thing I would check is the rubber boot seal for the wire entrance through the roof. It works off its seat if you raise and lower the wing much.

Ours leaked at one time also. Come to find out, the rubber boot over the coax cable was up out of its normal seating. I snugged it down and a few days later it was back up again. So, I took a dab of clear silicone caulk and smeared it down around the coax and then reseated the boot. Been there over seven years now and has never leaked again.

Same here. The boot on ours had somehow moved out of its correct position. On an older rig I had to disassemble the mount for the batwing and reseal it but that FW was about 18 years old (our first fw) at the time.

Sure enough, the boot was not secure. We were under a tree while at the CG, and I couldn't get to the batwing without going thru branches and getting soaked, or I would have seen the problem. Once again, big or small issue, the MOC comes thru. Thanks all. Jim
