Water pressure

Having problem with "city" water pressure. Started in Montana, then Michigan, now Florida. Plenty of pressure at bib. Changed filter, changed hose, changed screen. Turn water on, pressure for 3-4 seconds then drifts off. With kitchen sink running no water to bathroom. I just filled tank and ran the pump and have plenty of pressure to k sink, bath and toilet! Looked at rear of panel and I think there must have been a sale on plastic fittings in Goshen as it is almost impossible to trace what is going where. Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this before I have to climb up inside the basement and start removing pipes.

Are you using a water pressure regulator?

Also have you checked the outside shower inside the convenience center...one or both valves open?

I have been involved in the resolution of a similar problem twice. Fortunately never on my rig. First time the park had a regulator already installed at the faucet and my buddy was running his own regulator. Can't explain why but removing one of the regulators corrected the problem. The second time drove us all nuts. Ended up being a defective hose. The inside lining of the house was collapsing once hooked up to the trailer and the line charged. No visible evidence of the collapse as the outside layer of the hose stayed round. If we disconnected the hose from the trailer it would flow fine. You might try using a different hose and see if it helps. Let us know what you find. Jim

Some RV's have a backflow preventer in the fresh water connection at the convenience center. Sometimes the spring loaded disc gets jammed inside the fitting. Reach in with a pick or similar and make sure the disc moves back and forth freely.

Have seen a couple of things happen like this. The main one was using a cheap pressure regulator and over time it went bad. The second generally only would happen in one place but could follow you if all three places used the same backflow preventer on their water connection. Camping world type cheap water pressure regulators when coupled to a backflow preventer where a small plastic piece protrudes will cause a flow restriction that goes away if the two are separated by a small piece of hose or the regulator moved to the other end of the hose.

We use the Wally World regulator which I would categorize as one of the cheap variety. It will plug with gunk that passes through the water source. We change out our regulator every two to three years.

Thanks for all the thoughts. No pressure regulator. Had a "cheap" regulator once, won't do that again! Since I have full pressure running on pump, I will try to bypass the backlow preventer tody and see if that helps.

By the way, not having a pressure regulator is not a good idea. It's rare, but we've been to two campgrounds where water is frequently flowing from folks rigs because the water pressure was too high for the plastic fittings. One near Las Cruces NM was the worst, but one near Kansas City could do the job also.

Did you clean the screens on each of your faucets. I had no flow in my bathroom sink unscrew the screen in the spigot it had buildup that clogged the faucet cleaned it worked fine after that. You might check that.
