Funny thing about this. I have always used 80 lbs because it's the max rating. When last weighed my Monty is about 2,000lbs under the maximum GAWR and about 1,000 under on GTWR (yup lots of weight at the pin) and yet the tires are not exhibiting overinflation type of wear.
My rig does not have the increasingly popular Goodyear G-rated LT tires. I think in that case it could make a difference to be under the maximum 110lb tire rating. Since I have the recommended size and type tire and 80lbs is the max, then that's what I have successfully been using.
I have recently done some modifications and moved the load in the RV around a bit and need to reweigh, but so far, no need to change.
Maybe if you provide the size and type (LT or ST), others can comment further.

CasaDelSol, I run the max in my tires all the time, they say a hard tire has less drag and roll easier, so thats what I do. I guess it would make for a harder ride but cooler tires.

I use to run 80psi all the way around but now I run 70psi in the front and 75psi in the rear. Weigh your truck and trailer and use the tire pressure tables for the tire you are using. These are cold pressures.

I also run 80 psi in my trailer tires. The weight of the trailer doesn't require that much, it's just the way I prefer to do it, less rolling resistance.

Run max cold pressure on all my past and present rigs. Reduces rolling resistance, blowouts and they wear great!

called my local Goodyear rep and he insisted that I could not put the 614's on my Monty. I know some of you guy have but I couldn't find a rating on the inside of my aluminum rims, whatever OEM's on a 2010RL are. Am I looking in the wrong place?

Jerry, What reason did the Goodyear guy give? My rims were stamped on the inside of the rim between the ribs. I had to use a flashlight to see the numbers. They read 80psi and 3042lbs, this was on a 2006 3400RL. These rims were distributed by Tredit Tire and Wheel Company in Elkhart, IN. They recertified these wheels (TR6) for 110 psi and 3750 lbs at Keystones request. They gave me a letter stating this fact and stickers to place on the wheels. I would suggest you search again for the markings and go from there. I don't know what Keystone put on your '10 model, wheels or tires, BUT, I would upgrade to a better quality tire as soon as possible, even if it means upgrading the wheels. There are entirely too many stories of blown tires taking out sides of trailers. It is only a matter of time until this accident ends up in another lane and someone suffers collateral damage. This is my opinion anyway......

Sounds like he didn't have them in stock. Did he offer to sell you other tires instead?
