Jay, I wish you luck in that area. A few parks but nothing worth while as you have found. We stayed at Pike Lake State Park in Hartford,WI. It is all rustic. The park ranger told me that most folks in WI. like to get close to nature with tents. I asked how many tent shows they have in WI. This brings me to the time we cut through the UP of Mich, as we live in the lower half and stopped at Wells State Park. The park is about 30 miles from the Michigan, Wisconsin border. The park has grass sites with water and electric on each site and a dump station. It was a Friday afternoon and we left to visit some senic areas. We got back to the park late and the sign out front said sorry full. I told my wife no way as the park has 200 sites and only six were in use when we left. I had to bite my lip as I turned into the camping area all I could see were awning lights and campfires. The part that really stood out was all the state tags on the trailers were from Wisconsin
