State Campgrounds in Lousiana

We are looking to travel to somewhere around Baton Rouge at Thanksgiving. I want to do some family history research in Pointe Coupee Parish and in Terrebonne Parish. Any suggestions on where to stay?

Don't know just where in Point Coupee you want to look, but you might look at the RV park at the Paragon Casino in Marksville. With PA discount it is very reasonable and is a very nice park. As far as Terrebone, I know there are a couple parks in Houma, but I haven't stayed in them. We just returned from Grand Isle State park, and it is very nice, all pull through sites, but probably a little far from Terrebone Parish.

BTW, LA honors the Golden Passport and Access Passes.

You could stay at fairview riverside state park in mandaville. it is about 1 1/2 hours from baton rouge and just across lake from New orleans and terrebone is not far from there. You need to call and make a reservation though it stays busy. It is a nice park and is kept clean and right on the river.

Thanks so much for the information on the parks. I really appreciate you taking the time to respond and give us some clues about where to stay. I will look into these places.
