Fridge Temperature Issues

So I am trying to work through some issues with my fridge freezing things on the top shelf. I have done the Dollar Test, and the fridge doors seem to be sealing sufficient. After I did that, I tried to just turn my fridge down, currently I have set at 6. Well, I cant, when I press the temp button, nothing happens. I am supposed to be able to press and hold it, and then hit the button to cycle through the temp settings. and I cant. So I am assuming that it is the control board? I have the Extended Warranty , Good Sam, and my camper is at a seasonal site. Any Ideas? Is the control board something I can replace? I am pretty handy?
Do mobile companies accept the good SAM service plan, or do I have to drag this 90 minutes away to Camping world?

I would check the thermistor first and make sure it's connected and in the proper place, then I'd call the insurance company and see what they are willing to pay for.

Dick makes a good suggestion. Before I did anything I would remove the 12 volt power source from the control board. Give it a minute and hook it back up. In other words reboot the board. These little solid state controllers have a way of confusing themselves.

OK, where do i removed the 12v power from the board? In the rear of the fridge? I am assuming shut the fridge off then remove the 12v power?
I have a week till I am back at amp to figure a plan out LOl I believe the thermister is functioning, I have it installed on the right side of the fridge, second fin from the right I believe, a little more towards the top off the mid point.....

You can remove it from the control board at the back of the fridge. That is very accessible on mine from the bottom vent on the outside of the 5'er. You can also pull the 12v fuse in your breaker panel.

Put in a cheap thermometer so you can tell what is happening. Put in a battery powered circulating fan to keep the air moving and prevent cold/hot areas. Check the manual for your symptom and/or call the manufacturer.
From your description of not being able to access the temp control part of your controller your board might be toast or just the pushbutton panel. Dinosaurelectronics.com has upgraded boards for everything in the RV.

Its a Norcold 2118. The board on the back is the power board, thats where the fuse is, I think that board is fine, since the power controls all work fine, and it switches from gas to AC as it should. I am leaning to the control board on the front of the unit. I can turn the power on and off, I can switch from gas to AC, but when I press and hold the TEMP button to check and change the temperature, nothing happens. The fridge is still working fine though except for that. I have the Good Sam Extended warranted, I think is 100 deductible if I cont take it to a Camping World to get fixed, there it is a 50. I am on a seasonal sight so it would not be going there until the fall if I was to do that. if it is something I can fix, I would rather just get it done. The NORCOLD GUY has the control board for the front for 168....I just want to make sure I get the right parts this first time.

You've talked to the Norcoldguy, what does he think is the problem?

Check the thermistor location,on the cooling fins the higher it is located the colder the fridge will be,had that issue on my old rv moved it down a bit and it worked fine.

i did move the thermistor, and that seemed to take care of the freezing on the top shelf, but my TEMP button still does not work

Still no response from the norcold guy. Anyone know where i can look to find out the part that is bad on my fridge? I am thinking its the front control board, not the power board in the rear. Also, does it make sense that if the front control bad is bad that my Fridge would run more, and use more power? This might be the cause of another issue I am having that I have listed in a different thread, regarding the mount of electricity I am getting charged for by the campground.
