Window Glass Shattering
The small window on the slide behind the table of my 3000RK mysteriously shattered two days ago. It is the window on the side of the slide so when my slide is closed it is not exposed to the elements. I had just opened the windows two days before to try and get the new smell out of my unit(still can't after 4 years). When I returned to close the slides before the rain the window had shattered. Has anyone else ever experienced this problem?
I took the window frame out and a local glass company. They are able to order and replace the glass for 40 bucks. The dealer wanted $250 for the entire new window with the frame and shipping. Such a racket.

Very mysterious! Maybe the slide flexed and put momentary stress on that side? Just guessing.

Weed eaters and lawn mowers can throw rocks with enough velocity to do this (ask me how I know) Just a thought.

This is exactly what happened to one of my windows. Weed eater threw a small peble at the glass and shattered it.

If you didn't put the slide in or out and it just broke sitting there I would have to guess a rock too. Is that the sliding window? If so that one is kinda loose as it is.

It must have had a small crack or 'ping' in it, probably a glass defect from the factory, when they clamped the finger pull metal on it, I imagine.
I do know that a trailer corner in some instances, can shatter a rear truck window...

We also lost a window to a weedeater. Was in storage, and of course the storage lot denied all responsiblity for replacement. The other thing I have seen twice, folks in florida put up that silver reflective material (like windshield dash protectors) in windows, and the sun reflecting off the material caused the glass to spiderweb crack.

I've been lucky. No weed eaters or lawn mowers BUT I did have someone's golf ball come through a window...didn't even hear him yell, "FORE".
