New 2019 RAM 3500 DRW

Well after weighing out at the Rally, the news was the '17 2500 RAM was slightly over weight. Rear axle rating was 6000 lbs. - weighted 6700 lbs. Truck rated at 10,000 was weighted 11,873 lbs. Just glad I only had a '17 305RL.

But it did a great job pulling and stopping. So for piece of mind, bought the new DRW 3500.

I haven't dropped the hitch in yet but would love to get the rear end dropped 3-4". the 2500 had the 5er running up hill.

What type of shop could do this work?

Thoughts on doing this?

I did find Titan has an OEM Replacement fuel tank with 55 gallon capacity.

LOL that is why we have a dually also. I took ours to the scales. Was at 11,500 with our F350 SRW without DW, W/D, Aux fuel tank or a backseat of grandkids

Many shops that sell aftermarket truck accessories also install them. Your dealer may also be able to help.

You should hook up first then check level.
It expensive but MORryde IS when installed brings everything to level. They raised the rear on our Montana 2” made a huge difference.

So the moral of this story is to stay off the scales and save yourself

My 2018 Ram cc longbed dually hauls my 384br perfectly level without modification.

Our 2018 Ram 3500 DRW sits perfectly level when our 3121RL is hooked up. I would not make any changes to the truck until you see how it sits stock.

My 381TH also sits perfectly level on our stock Long bed Ram 3500 DRW.

I agree with everyone else test the stock configuration before making any mods.

Also curious, why didn't you opt for the factory installed Mopar/Curt hitch? We really like ours and have several friends that went that route on their Rams. Just easier to throw it in with the truck note....

We had to get a dually for the same reasons, and with the automatic leveling system our Dodge pulls level every time.

I probably wouldn't have paid extra for the rear air level if I had ordered a truck but the one I bought had it and I love it. It's well worth the money.

Both the hitch and pin box have adjustment. You should have 6-8" from the bed rails to the bedsides. My 2015 we were 1" low on the back end, when I put IS on, they leveled it out.

As you can see in my pic, we are pretty level with the RAM 3500 4x4 dually with auto leveling air bags. I put the B&W Companion hitch at it's lowest point to get the ride to be more level. I had them raise the pin box up one bolt hole to get even more level.

Make sure you need to do it first. My F350 dually sits slightly lower than the F250 I had before it.

my '17 Ram 2500 B&W Companion Slider from the old truck to save a buck. Will check level before doing mods. Just rode with a friend that bought F350 DRW and 2020 3813MB - it was a nice ride.
