caulking

Do you know what type of caulking is used along the trim on these trailers? I need to re-caulk a very short place along our front side graphic. Any suggestions appreciated.

I can’t say that it would be the proper thing to use but I would use silicone caulking in an area as you have described for trim, however, not sure it would work on the edge of a decal if that is what you are describing. I would be careful however not to use it against any rubber such as on your roof. Rubber and silicone don’t get along.

I don't believe that Silicone is the right answer. It can't be painted for one thing. You can search on the words "rv caulking," and come up with a lot of ways. Also, if I remember correctly (I lost my bookmarks) silicone caulk will not stick to all surfaces so you want a caulk that is multipurpose, flexible to a variety of substrates, resists weathering and yellowing, dries fast. Also, if I remember correctly, you should use a urethane based caulk. You may also want to consider a self leveling caulk.

When in doubt, ask the manufacturer what they uese and try the same brand.

Edited: Check Dyco C-10 Sealant.

I never thought about maybe needing to paint over it. Silicone wouldn’t work in that case.

I use normal caulking in those cases. Mostly, I like the self-leveling caulk.
