JT's Strong Arm Stabilizers

On our last trip, I decided to install these stabilizer bars from http://jtrv.com/.

Unfortunately, because we can't get our 5er in our driveway (long story), most of the improvements we have made have been on the road.

The upshot of this $500 and about 4 hour addition is that the 5er hardly moves at all! Just the springs over the axles give feedback.

While more expensive than a king-pin stabilizer, I think it provides better stability and it is infinitely more convenient since there is no additional setup other than loosening or tightening the t-handles.

Good info. We also saw these at the recent rally. They were impressive.

If you install scissor jacks just in front or behind the axles and lower them to just snug you will eliminate that bounce over the axles. Does on ours, anyhow.

As for the 6" tube behind the front landing gear, I looked, because I want to do the same and believe there will be no clearance issues.

I had them installed in Santa Fe Springs,Ca. on concrete there is no wiggle on dirt there is a slight wiggle. Mine ran about $1000 including installation where they welded an additional bar in the front and the rear. This is on a 3280RL, I don't know if they charge differently on other models that may be easier.

I too recently installed a set on my 2980. As the front arms braces mount 30" back of the electric jacks, I just relocated my 6" PVC tube I carry my outdoor carpet in behind the stabilizer arm. It puts the tube just under the storage compartment door. Although pricey ... the elimination of wobble is impressive. There is no comparison to using the tripod jack I've previously used and you don't have to load and unload it. As stated before all that is noticable now is minimal suspension bounce. I got mine from Orangewood RV in AZ for $450 plus shipping.

Does the kit include fore and aft stabilizers? Looks like a great way to fix the problem.

There are 6 stabilizer bars total on my kit. If you have individual scissor jacks on the rear, there will be 8 bars. When you order, they will ask you what kind of rear jacks you have and if it is for a TT or fiver. Anyways ... I have 4 arms that control fore and aft movement and 2 that control side to side. The BAL jacks in the back already helped with side to side movement per their design. I didn't realise just how much movement your front electric jacks allow till I pushed on the side of the RV as in the JT Stabilizer video!

I agree with DieselGuy - Fantastic product.

My kit, too, came with 6 bars - 4 for the front and two for the rear. The only caveat is that the salesman from the distributor asked me if I wanted the fronts or the rears. He priced each set at $500. I only ordered the "fronts" which in reality were both front and rear.

I have these as well. Four bars in front and two in the rear. Since my 319BHS has that sliding bike rack bumper in the rear, it created some mounting problems. Initially, I mounted the rears so the bars mounted forward of the scissor jacks, which was a big mistake. To effectively reduce the movement, the rear bars have to mount towards the center of the trailer, not forward or backward. Since I have that bike rack, I had a crossmember made out of square tubing, and bolted it to the existing scissor jack bolts, then mounted the stabilizer bars to the center of my new crossmember. It worked great!
