Wireless Weather Station???

I like to add wireless inside and out temperature & humidity sensing and display to our late 2006 Montana 3400RL. Would like to hear what others have installed and how things have worked out Brand/model #, and where the outside sensors were installed, etc? Any help would be appreciated. We will need something that handles the over 100 degree hot sun in AZ and the sub freezing, wet weather here in WA. TIA

We currently use one by Oregon Scientific that also includes the self-regulating atomic clock. The outdoor sensor is mounted just above the basement door under the front overhang to keep it out of direct sun exposure. It has worked well for over 3 years and we leave the outdoor unit in place, even while traveling with no ill effects (so far, anyway). You can buy much more expensive units but we found this to be adequate for casual use.

I have the same unit as MikeM and put it in the same place. I did have another cheap model (12.95)a couple of years back but found that it could not always pick up the reading from outside when I had the inside part at the other end of the 5'er. Mine does not have a humidity sensor. Don't need one since I am in northern Washington and it is always raining.

Thanks for the identification of what you are using. Do you happen to know what model you are suing. I just checked their web site and they offer a few different models with the features you have mentioned.

We got two of the Acu-rite wireless Thermometers at WalMart for about 29.00 each. Both sensors register on both of the inside displays as channel one and two. I got the second unit so I could keep track of the basement temp while wintering in TN. If the basement got below 38 I turned up the furnace. I used the Industrial strength Velcro on each unit. One is on the wall near the service center in the basement and the other is just inside the pinbox under the overhang out of the direct sunlight. They work great and if you use the silver colored Lithium batteries you can get close to a year of service out of them on one set... Dave

We have a wireless atomic clock thermometer and I mounted the sensor inside of the front storage compartment. I placed it there primarily so it would be mounted in the shade. I felt it would be accurate enough with all of the holes that are in the surrounding compartment. I figure it gets enough ventilation to give an accurate temp as long as the unit isn’t moving down the road; then I imagine that it would change somewhat.

We lay the sensor in the pin box and it stays put.

I have two sensors also, but one outside under the pinbox, and I put the other inside the refrigerator. That way while traveling and stopped, one glance will tell me that the refrigerator and power to it is fine and nothing is spoiled. Don't even have to open the refrig door to look at it.

Would you folks please inform us of what both the manufacturer is AND the model # of the unit you are using? Oregon Scientific, for example, offers several versions that fit the general descriptions herein. I'd like to purchase the specific model that others have had good luck with. Thanks for all the help so far.

I have a WS-73940U-IT-CH in my kitchen with the sensor mounted on the north side of the garage. I have a second unit using the same sensor up in the bedroom (WS-7013BZ-IT). It works very well so I bought another WS-7013BZ-IT with sensor for the Monty. I have not installed it yet as my 2009 camping season is just getting started here in PA.

Bought an Accurite unit at WalMart. It has inside and outside temp and humidity, time, date and forcast. I glued a magnite on the back and stick on the hitch where there is no sun. I remove from hitch and put it in the propane storage area when traveling. Forgot to remove it once, but it was still there that evening.
