Dinning table

Just purchased 2019 3121RL and learning all the ins and outs.
There is what appears to a movable support with a small gas shock under the dinning table. Not sure what its for and nothing in the manual. It has a foam rubber sleeve on each arm of the support but it does not fit in between the support frame of the table.

Sounds like you're seeing the part that's supposed to secure the chairs when traveling.

Dear DonJo,
as you stand at the end of your table there is a pull out plunger on your left hand side. Pull out that plunger and the table extends out (entire table pulls outward). Then you can lift up the table for the storage area. There is also a leaf that can be pulled out for additional space.

That is a chair buddy under your table to secure your two chairs for travel.

I'm curious what dealership you purchased your unit from. All these items should have been covered during your walk through.

Wow, Im with Mootana, My dealer went over all that stuff in our walk through in tremendous detail, and even made us both demonstrate we could
operate everything ourselves. Some of these RV dealers are not doing a very good orientation. The chair buddy is great, love it compared to the old strap routine...

Also DonJo make sure you have the table in the fully retracted position before you close your slide on that side ! If its extended the island will hit it and I'm guessing the result would not look pretty !

I can vouch that it doesn't look too bad after you put everything back where it is supposed to be. I strongly dislike that table and someday will rip it out and find something else.

We have a 2019 3121 RL as well and we have nothing like that, just a strap that goes around the legs of the chairs. We bought ours last August, so it must be an improvement during the model year. But as WeBeFulltime said above,, I forgot to strap them ionce and they never moved an inch over a 4 hour trip. Enjoy your new 3121RL, Congratulations!

I just read this string. We bought ours a month ago. Our orientation included the device to secure the chairs but NOT that the table top comes up for storage underneath. BTW. Make sure you lock the table back in place for travel using the same release handle.

Another note on the table lock, since new my lock assembly has backed out twice. The first time on a trip I found it laying on the floor after opening the slides. Realizing it was a self enclosed assembly that just screws (threads) into the table base frame, I screwed it back in. I tightened (torqued) it as much as I thought with it being a plastic assembly easily cracked with to much pressure. However it backed our a second time but I caught it before hitting the floor again as I was keeping a watch on it. I decided to wrap the threads with Teflon pipe tape (3-4 wraps), and it’s been holding steadfast ever since.

Only thing about table I disliked was the fact that it was about 2" higher than a standard table. I took a couple of hours to lower it. My wife just closer her eyes and stayed out till I was dont.

Mtheo, how did you lower your table, that is my one complaint as well, I feel like a little school kid at a big desk. Any tips on how to lower the table would be very much appreciated. Thank you!

I thought it was just me complaining on the table height! I'm 5'9" and have to sit on a pillow!!

Thanks, just found the storage under the table. Did not know it was there. Also the table lock assembly came out on us and we found it under the table, we had had some work done on our shades and thought it was some tool for repairing the shades. Took it back to the dealer and no one knew what it was, finally some one else had one come out and they figured it out. Now we will let them know about the storage under the table when we get back.

Funny Woodyswanch, I’m 5’9” too and have to use a pillow, glad I’m not the only one. And 2golfers, took me awhile to figure out the lock assembly too when I found it laying on the floor. I love this forum, find out we all have so many things in common. I’m on to figuring out how to lower my table now that I know it can be done.
