I got real lucky (sarcasm intended), hit Atlanta on 75 southbound at about 7:30 a.m. on the way to Florida last week. Simple strategy was applied, stayed in the center lanes at 65 mph and prayed constantly that there would be no brake checks. Thank goodness prayers were answered in a positive way. Reminded me of Charlotte to Lake Norman..or the Beltway around DC...makes for a exciting hour!!!!!!!!! Rich and Dave, you can take comfort in the fact that there is a general air of envy permeating the atmosphere in WV. Mid twenties forecast for tonight.

We are going to get this massive cold front that is sweeping down out of Canada eventually. Forecasters are predicting that it will not get out of the upper 60s by the middle of next week. Still shorts weather for us northerners...

A Winter Storm Warning remains in effect until 5 PM EST Thursday.

Snow showers will develop during the pre-dawn hours across the
warning area...and continue through the day Thursday. Gusty west
winds will also result in considerable blowing and drifting snow.
Hazardous travel conditions are expected to develop across the
region by Thursday morning. Visibilities in the snow and blowing
snow will be reduced at times to less than one quarter of a mile.
By late Thursday...from 6 to locally 10 inches of new snow can be
expected.

A Winter Storm Warning means severe winter weather is expected or
occurring. Strong winds are also possible. This will make travel
very hazardous.
Many areas already received up to 10 inches yesterday during a storm and 50 mph winds. Not even December yet!
