Electrical Cord
Keystone should furnish a cover for the end of the power cord that goes into the Montana. The cover (only $20 retail) comes with a locking screw type collar that screws on to the base mounted on the rear of the Montana and already has the threads for the collar. The collar not only keeps the moisture out, but secures the cord to the trailer with the collar so all the weight is not on the actual receptacle attached to the cord.
I've had three of these cords on boats...all came with the cover as part of the power cord. Here it is:

Our Cambridge has the locking collar, and our Everest 343L also had the locking collar. I was surprised to see the Motanna didn't have the same. I also don't like the connection point for the Montana in the rear. Ours is located on the side behind a closed panel door and goes thru the botton to the power post. GBY......

My new Mountaineer came with the cover and locking collar. I'm not sure whether it is factory supplied or whether the type varies based on what the dealer stocks or wants to give you.

We have the locking collar on our 3280 and had it on our 3255. Did they make a change? By the way, the new Big Sky that was at the rally in Branson had a locking collar on it.

Hummm..My Built in April of 06 3400 does not have the locking collar. The camper side has the threads on it as if there should be a locking collar..but no collar. Guess they lowered production cost by going to no collar.. Every penny counts you know.

Our 2007 does not have the locking collar. I actually never used the 50A cord on the 2003 Monty, so I couldn't tell you what it had. I always used a 30A from CW that did have the locking collar.
Don't bust that lid on the receptacle like I did - it is expeeeensiiiive !

Apparently "Life is like a box of chocolates" applies to the construction of Montanas as well. I find it odd that my Mountaineer would have a locking collar and the higher end Montana would not - considering both are 2007 models.

No locking collar on our 3400 50 amp cord, don't use the 50 amp cord unless I have to. Bought a 50 to 30 adaptor that has the locking collar and it is nice to have for sure.

Ours does not have the locking collar. Nor did our 3295RK. I have a 50-30amp adapter from CW that attaches to the power plug on the Montana. It has the collar. I prefer the collar because it locks the plug in place and helps to support the weight of the cord, causing less stress from the heavy cord pulling on the connection point.

Our 2002 - 2955 has the locking collar. I believe it came that way. I didn't buy it new, but it works nice. JB
