K and V, you guys are indeed the last ones out! We made it to from Tok to White Horse, YT yesterday in about 10 hours. A looooong day but worth it to me to get that rough section of the trip over. So glad to have that section behind us. Now is is back to poking along again. We're staying over in White Horse for two nights and then on down the road. WOW!!!!!! WHAT A SUMMER!

Well, it looks like we can close out this Alaska chapter, that is if we are the last ones out. We arrived in River Bend RV Park in Mt. Vernon, WA this afternoon. W-O-W what a blast we had in Hyder, bears, bears and more bears. Even had one trying to help me hook up the camper the morning we left.

I Think Virgil and Jo are still there. They ran into some trouble while leaving Whitehorse. Hopefully, it is all fixed and they are the ones to turn out the lights.

Wasn't it a great summer?

We're out of Alaska but we're still in Whitehorse. We broke a leaf spring somewhere back up the road, then an equalizer snapped at the main bolt in the center. Couldn't see or tell that anything was wrong at that point. Then, from the bouncing and rubbing of the frame on the tire, we blew a tire. When the tire blew the axles loaded irregularly since the suspension was already broken and the axles tried to go out the other side of the trailer and in the process bent the frame. It actually "creased" the frame and the welding shop says they need to cut the frame to repair it. The insurance co said STOP and wait for our adjuster so he is on the way here now. We have been here for a week and three days today and are just on hold unless the adjuster comes today.

We're looking forward to moving again.

Oh No. What an awful way to end a wonderful summer. Maybe Rudi will fix you a nice steak topped with all those beautiful mushrooms he just picked.

I'll bet if you ordered your new Montana, it would be ready by the time you pick up that beautiful Tow Vehicle. We sure wish you the best.

Virgil & Jo, Sorry to hear about your misfortune, you would have been in Whitehorse when we came thru there. We picked up the bike & trailer on Tuesday and I took it down today to Lacy,WA to have the oil changed. We leave in the morning for Port Angeles for three days where we will take the ferry to Victoria, BC, Butchart Gardens and then move on down to Portland,OR to visit relatives, new tires for the truck, 46,000 mile service and get the turn signal fixed.
Sure hope you get things fixed ok.
Keep the rubber on the road and your knees in the breeze.

Kenny & Virgina, we drove down from AK last year. What a great experience! We had no trouble with our tires, but it would be wise to have a spare for each. The roads down are always under construction and usually one lane is closed so you can count on waiting to get through. Fill up the tank at every oportunity, the next gas station can be few and far between and some might even be closed. Don't take any chances. Roads can get pretty rough but you're fine as long as you take your time. Pack carefully, lots of bouncing around. Took us 8 days from Anchorage to the Washington state border.
Yes bring waders! The rivers and streams are COLD! But the fishing is great! Good luck and safe traveling!!
