Cool Generator install in 2010 3455SA?

We purchased a used Onan 5.5 LPG generator and took it to a local Cummins dealer for installation. They called a week later saying that the front compartment was not large enough for the generator? Just wondering if anyone else has had problems with lack of space for mounting this type of power plant in a 2010 3455SA. We were told the generator couldn't be installed because of the shaft for operating the landing gear interfers with the installation..

Wow, that's no good! We are thinking of putting one in ourselves down the road. I wonder if you could change out the jacks to ones mounted like the current Montanas? Not sure it would be worth the hassle or expense. Or down size your generator?

So get a two motor system - not all that expensive, easy to install, makes leveling easier, and you can trash that cheap single motor set. No more shaft.

I do not think they know what they are talking about as that genny was an option on that and many other rigs. If you have the metal surround already installed in the compartment, the genny will slide right in, tight, but it will work. If it does not have the surround, they should be able to acquire it from a dealer.
