First-time RV owners jumping in deep

My husband and I always have had a dream of living the RV life. When all our kids were grown we were going to sell everything, buy a camper, and live/travel in it.
Fast forward a few years. Our youngest girls are 16 & 13. As for me, at the age of 41, I apply for and get my dream job in a town halfway across our state.
So, as a family, we decide to sell everything buy the RV, and start living the full-time camper life.
So my husband, I, two teenage daughters, 2 dogs, and three cats are biting the bullet and diving in headfirst.

Today we signed the papers on our 2019 Montana 3791RD!
I'll be by myself for the first few weeks, then the fam will be joining me in May!
Sure beats the 20X10 tent we've always camped in!!

What a wild ride we are taking!!!

You will have a lot to learn and this forum will be able to answer almost all your questions. I don't envy living in this rig with pets and 4 almost adults, tho. LOL

Welcome to the forums and hope everything works out well for you. Just like in a marriage, it takes about a year to adjust to a new camper. Just like in a marriage, it takes that first year to fix "that" little thing, make a change on "that" little thing, move "that" little thing from over here to over "there", and adjust, compromise, and learn. So, be patient. Things happen, your domain gets smaller, more cramped, less space, and absolutely everything downsized. But those mental adjustments and acceptance does come. So, keep a positive attitude, expect the unexpected, ride with the tide, and you'll do just fine. Having 4 people living in a camper in tight quarters will be an adjustment .... not just for you, but for them. Don't be surprised when the kids start screaming they want their own space. You might want to hang onto that tent! It provides extra space!

But, all is good. Just expect the unexpected and roll with everything. And enjoy! It's a great lifestyle!

Sounds like a ride. Just remember that a house always has more value than an RV. Be careful with that decision!

Wonderful! Happy you’ve joined us. It’s a great group. If you can get to the Montana Rally in Goshen, In. This fall you will make great friends and learn#0 much from fellow campers and the many seminars provided.
