Installing dryer vent
We are newbies here. We just purchased a new 2019 Montana High Country 330rl and are diy installing stackable Splendide washer and dryer. There is a sticker on the wall re the dryer vent, but no guidance on exactly where to place it. Can someone help?
Thanks!

Don't trust the sticker. Check for joists in the walls before drilling just to be safe.

In the wee hours of the morning the dew will show where the wall studs are located.

I did not trust the decal, glad I didn’t. I measured straight to the wall from backside of the washer. Decal location was way off. Used my holesaw to mark the circle/cut. Had no stud finder, using my smallest bit, drilled five holes, 12, 3, 6, 9 0’clock, and center. No framing, all clear. Cut from the inside until center auger bit went all the way thru, finished the cut from outside. Hose run short and straight, 8 inches.

This is the way to do this job.
Don't trust the sticker! Even nicking into a metal joist is a real pain.

This is the wife talking. Well, too late folks. We used a stud finder, thought we had the perfect spot, measured inside and outside twice, and im not too proud to admit that DH cut right through a stud. The hole was clean looking on the outside, the install looks beautiful, you would think that the vent had always been there but I’m sick about the stud and what could happen going forward. Any suggestions or comments that would make me feel better?

Where was your measured "perfect spot" in relation to the factory sticker? Just curious!

Would have thought your DH would have felt it if he hit an aluminum stud. I would be concerned if I cut thru an aluminum framing stud, particularly with the additional weight of the washer/dryer. Imagine the dealer would tell you it needs to be repaired, but only a frame specialist would know for sure. Sorry to hear Murphy impacted the project.

The sticker only said “place the dryer vent on this wall according to manufacturers instructions. If we cut there, we would have been cutting through a decal which we did not want to do. So we placed the vent 14”
directly above the sticker.

Thanks for your response. It was helpful and comforting. No, he did not feel the aluminum stud. I will call a Keystone rep tomorrow and discuss it with them. In retrospect, guess we should have called them first. I hope others will learn from our mistake.

Dryer vent
Dryer vent. Make sure you put blue painters tape on the outside this prevents chipping
