Mouse Entrance Areas?
I have a 2017 High Country 345RL. Over the winter it appears as though a mouse(or mice) have taken up residence in the camper.
I know that a mouse can get into a really tiny hole so my question is this... Where have you found that might not be overly obvious(or maybe obvious) that a mouse could get inside the camper?
I noticed that where the bathroom sink plumbing goes into the basement is wide open, so that will need to be sealed up.

You first need to find wear they are getting through the coroplast under the 5er. Look for openings around drains, Brake wires, Or at the sides & end's of it. Any wear that looks like they could get in and seal it up with spray foam. I use the black pond foam you can get at most H\D or Lowe's.

Bassicaly they can get in your camper anywhere they wont to. If you find a way to keep them out we would like to know about it. I’ve tried stopping up holes, moth balls the noise makers. I put the noise makers in my silverware drawer on top of the silverware, guess what they did on my silverware. Good guess. You got it.
I don’t think there is any way to keep them out of your camper, but now keep the bait stations at the wheels and landing gear. That at least gives them some reason not to bother my camper. As an added benefit they go off and die.

go to Walmart(or..) go to the spices isle, find the bottle of Peppermint Oil.
Bring home and mix 50/50 with water, in a spray bottle.
Once the trailer is parked.. spray the bottom 6" of the tires, jacks,, foot or so of hoses and cords that touch the ground. Mice hate peppermint.. its real..
I found it on the internet 2 yrs ago. I spray my garage entrances, and around the edges,, havent had a mouse in the garage for two years...

If you have electricity we have several members who use the sonic devises and love them.

IF they are around, they will get in. We do use the peppermint oil option, particularly in outside storage areas, and are careful to have no open food to get into. And have been on the road, where it has taken several days of trapping to get rid of them.

I just did a similar post
Mice get into trailers through any hole approximately 1/4x1/2 inch and a HC has a bunch. You have to find and fill them and it takes a bunch of time.

We had a serious mice infestation last winter here in Florida. Sticky traps captured 6 of them seems it was a mice family. We installed sonic devices in the side compartment and in the kitchen area. We have not seen a mice since.

Mice
Here is an old trick I leaned from my father. I place a pail about 3' deep with bait in it outside the trailer. They need to have access to the pail. Once they are in it they can't get out. I have done this on the inside of the bathroom likely will stop them and hopefully get them out before they smell. Just and idea.

When I had a rat and mouse problem in my house (I lived next to agricultural land), I found these Victor Electronic Rat Traps worked really well. I had the older M240 model, I think there's a new M241 model out now, not sure how well it does.
The trap zaps the rat or mouse, then you just dump it out. Worked a lot better than the classic snap-traps. It's instant death so I think it's more humane than glue traps and poison. My office had a mouse die in the walls from a poison trap and the smell was there for months.
The electronic zap trap kills about 50 times on a set of (4) C batteries.

Mouse Entrance Areas
Maybe we were just lucky; our mouse problem stopped when we started keeping our slides closed when not in use.

Peppermint oil does the trick. Soak some cotton balls in peppermint oil and place anywhere you think mice may enter. I use it in my 5th Wheel, Truck Camper and house. Where mice were once a problem, there are no signs of the vermin now.

I believe I found the mouse doorway on ours - the very back of the belly coroplast had come loose and the power cord (highway) ran right by that gap. To be fixed tomorrow - that is if it doesn't rain or snow or stays below 32*F

We have cotton balls of peppermint oil, dryer sheets and Fresh Cab. The Fresh Cab was pooped on and I think the mice sucked the oil off the cotton balls. Dryer sheet - at least they smell nice.

A friend has a solution for mice coming up the power cord. Double the cord over in a 5 gallon bucket with about a gallon of water in it. Just make sure you have a good power cord.

Lynwood - great solution - that cord is only a 16 or 18 Awg to keep the battery charger and lights on if needed over the winter. Might even work if the water is frozen too such as this morning when it's at ~25*F

That might work - that is until, with my usual luck, the snowblower 'will eat' everything while buried in a foot or so of that white stuff. Worth a try though

Every Fall, while winterizing, I load up several mouse traps with peanut butter and place them inside our trailer as well as in the storage areas. My thinking is that if they wander in they will get trapped before setting up home in our trailer. Between chewing on your trailer and urinating on your electrical systems mice can do a lot of damage.

Bucket Mouse Trap
This bucket mouse trap I saw on youtube works amazingly well. I put antifreeze in the bucket. It won't freeze, and the mice don't rot.
Just type "mouse trap plank" in Amazon and you will find what you need.
I use this at home and no mouse stays in my garage for more than a night.
Good luck!
