No bumper cargo carrier

I am thinking of installing a cargo carrier (would be for my Treager Tailgater 62lbs) on the back of my 2008 2955rl. As there is no bumper it looks like I will have to cut holes in order to get something bolted/welded onto the frame somehow. I have not loosened the bottom covering to see what’s what yet.
Thoughts anyone?

Although I'm not familiar with your trailer, I've bolted receiver's onto my current FW and my last 2 TTs. Etrailer sells the receiver and if you're reasonably handy, can probably install it in an afternoon. It bolts on between the two main frame rails. Once on, you could use one of those "shelf" type units that goes into a receiver. You may need a short receiver extension to be sure the shelf is actually behind the trailer as my frames I've bolted these on seem to end before the actual back of the trailer. Just a thought...

I installed a Hidden Hitch 82201 (sold under different vendor names) adjustable motor home hitch on my 2005 2955 to carry bicycles. It bolts on pretty easily. I wouldn't put a lot of weight on it, but 62 lbs. isn't a problem. You will need an extension in the 2" receiver to move the coupler out far enough to clear the rear cap.

I have my Honda 3000 (125 lbs) on a rack attached to the frame. It is from Harbor Freight and supported by 2 receivers (a single point rocks side to side and just is not strong enough to take the beating back there). The first rack from Camping World was supposed to be good to 300 lbs.....it failed and rack, still holding my new generator(thank God) was drug on CA 405 at 60 miles an hour until I figured out what the strange noise was. This rack will not fail.

I would like to see pictures of your 2 receiver setup if you can post them.

We did the same when we first bought the unit. Easy to install. Been good for 13 years.

Here are the pictures. The close-up of the weld is of the side without the lock and shows the weld better. In the middle of the frame you can see the first effort and the reinforced weld. It only served as a strong point for side to side movement that I could not trust.

Because the rack is attached to the frame I can feel vibration when the Ginny is running but, with the back window closed, I can barely hear it. The Honda 3000 has an automatic step down when the load is light but is always very quiet. By the way, having it on the back helps with the pin weight on the truck (CAT scale tested).

Good pics!! Always make it easier to understand. Our 98 salem 5er had 3 receiver setup, carried a 4300 robin subaru generator and a small freezer (freezer loaded probably had close to #400). We also double towed our SXS polaris ranger with it (not at same time as gen/freezer). Plan on doing the same triple receiver on our new to us 2014 3150 RL.

Did you fabricate this rack yourself. I'm looking online HF, Etrailer, Amazon and can't seem to find any that go into two receivers. I would want two for a generator to avoid rocking.
