2014 Montana 3402RL

I'm going to go look to purchase a 2014 3402RL. I don't know anything about the Montana, I currently have a Hitchhiker but want a bigger rig. Is there anything particular or problems to look for on this particular model. Appreciate any input.

We bought our 2014 3402rl about 3.5 years ago and paid about twice that. It was used but like new in condition. It had slide covers, 6 point hydraulic level up system, and two ACs. Extended warranty replaced front AC in year two. No other major problems except the China bomb tires and junk oem recliners. Upgraded to disc brakes, g-rated Sailuns, king bed, and a Dometic 320 in bathroom. Had to change the faucet in the bathroom to make the sink usable. I'm nitpicking now. Our trailer has been great for our needs and if the one you are looking at is in good shape, buy it and enjoy. You will need at least a 350 or 3500 SWR to handle the load. Good luck and I would be glad to answer any specific questions about the 3402rl.

3402 Montana

We purchased a 2015 new. We’ve been pretty lucky not to have many problems with our unit. We also replaced bathroom faucet with one with a longer spout. Put a hydraulic lift on the cabinet over the stove. Had to replace the black tank release handle. Had a small leak in the underbelly from the fresh water pipe.
We have recliners by the back window and have to tie together an wedge rolled up beach mats underneath so the don’t knock against each other. The couch is starting to crack. Over all it’s been a great unit. I would buy that unit over a new one.

We have the 13 3402 Big Sky. We are long timers and high end users. We have traveled thousands of miles since 2013. We installed Mor Ryde IS system. We did not purchased the cheap pleather furniture with the RV. We have not had any serious issues with the 3402.

Axle size

Short of crawling under the unit and looking, does anyone know what size axle came with the 2014 3402RL?

AFAIK, Montana's do not have a "inline, behind the wall, water pressure regulator ". If there is one there it was added by a [previous owner.

What GAinaMontana said,
"You will need at least a 350 or 3500 SWR to handle the load."
Please make sure you have enough TV (tow vehicle) to handle it.
I recently read a thread on another forum where a guy bought a TT, then bought a SUV TV. Salesman told him it could handle it. It could not. Now he is stuck with both. Very sad....
