When was MOC formed?

A simple question but answer unknown-- When was MOC officially organized? We know we are celebrating our 10th Anniversary of the Fall Rally this year but was MOC formed that same year or was it formed earlier?

UPDATE: 5/10/13
Thanks for all the suggestions as to when MOC was organized and for the photo or sights to go to you've sent. We have access to photos for 2004-2008-2009-2010-2011-and 2012!

IF YOU WERE IN ATTENDANCE AT THE 2005, 2006 or 2007 FALL RALLIES and have photos of these could you please send them to me so we have some from all of the Fall Rallies since the beginning! Thanks!!! (Bump)

MOC #2 RC and Samantha are listed as having joined Nov 4,2002. I have not idea what transpired before that and how the early members from around the country met.

November 4, 2002 was the first day using this forum software. You can tell that by going to the Members list, then click on "member since" and then click "member since" again. That puts members in order of when they became members. Montanaadministrator is the first one listed and it's 11/4/2002.

However, some of us became members of this forum before it moved to this software. I'm trying to remember whether it was Yahoo groups, or what. I was the fourth member there. I didn't go back for about a month and found out it had moved to here and I had to register again. So, I'm now member number 20, signing up on this software on 11/6/2002.

Ron, this is the 10th Fall Rally, as noted. The very first one was in 2004 and was at Playmor RV Park near Bremen, IN, west of Nappanee. Some time before that we happened to be spending some time in Elkhart. We were all talking about having a rally. It was decided to have it near the factory. Since we were in the area we were asked to scout out possible rv parks. Then someone made the decision where to have the rally.

That first rally was a success beyond what any of us thought it would be. We had somewhere around 80 rigs there. For a very first rally! What a great time meeting all these folks we'd previously known only electronically!

Here's a picture from that first rally.

Hey Steve if you have more pictures of the first Fall Rally, I'd sure like to have them. It would be a good project to post at this year's 10th Anniversary Rally. If anyone else has photos from the First Rally please email them to me if you can! Thanks in advance!

LOTS of photos from the 2004 on the new home page, go up there to top of this page, click Home.

When you get to the new pages, hover over the tabs at the top of that page, Photos!

2004 is there, pull down till you can hover over that, there are 3 links.

Have fun!

It would be interesting to know how many of those 80 attendees are still active in MOC (SOB or not). That's a lot of years for everything to stay static in this dynamic world.

Steve Reigle... we did the same as you in having been members of the MOC back when it was briefly on another site and it was an open membership. I'm racking my brain and am thinking it was in two places briefly before here(I might be experiencing CRS).
This location here at ForumCo might have also been open membership at first and then became closed making it necessary to think up a username (CRS again?). I finally made up a MOC name about two weeks later. Glad I did.

We were at the 1st rally also. I joined when it was here after holding off for a short while. I was even within 100 posts [or less] of Steve R.

Art, why don't you create a new thread asking for those who attended the original 2004 Fall Rally at Playmor to post.

Skip, I remember meeting you at that first rally. Your rig was across the street from us and east of us. You had the fly rod out when I first came down to meet you.

We had Steves directly to our east and the only SOB on our west. The SOB was a guy who delivers new trailers to dealers and the SOB FW was his home between trips.

Ain't past memories wonderful! Makes us proud to use that grey matter up on our shoulders and I don't mean hair even though many of us have or had that too! Hope we can get as many of the First Rally Attendees to this one or at least send us some memories or notes about it. Just send them to me via email if you can over the Forum. Thanks!!

Steve, you remember more than I do [flyrod, other folks] but I have a remarkably bad memory.

Skip, I also remember getting a tour of the uniquely decorated inside of your Montana. It was quite interesting!

Before about October 2004 when I became a member you didn't haft to be a member to see the forum. I bought my 2001, 2955RL in 2003 and began checking out MOC every day while I worked. The 3 members I remember the most were Glen, Orv and Steve.

We got our first Montana in 2002 and didn't learn about the MOC until a couple of years later. We attended our first rally which may have been the first at the Fairgrounds in Goshen. Judy Denner and Imp were the Wagonmasters. This was also the last rally that was allowed to use the building for events. Learned all about Mexican Train in that building. Liked who we met and what we saw at that first rally and we attended every one since then. We no longer have our Montana but attended one night last year too. The friends we made in the MOC are special and we still consider them good friends. Ten wonderful years with two different Montanas!
