Electric

I was recently told that my electric outlet is on wrong and that my black plugin gets loose due to gravity. I have a 380th. I've included a photo. Does this look right? Nevermind the bungie, I just put it on the hold it in straight. Thanks! ( photo loaded sideways)

Can't see anything that would concern me.

You need to remove the cover and rotate the actual socket so the cord hangs down instead of sideways.

The covers hinge should be on top.

Assume you are referring to the cord cap coming out of the outlet at a 90 degree angle. You can remove it with 4 screws and then rotate the outlet 90 CCW so that the cord will hang straight down toward the ground.

Another fine example of the assembly line. Hard to imagine that someone would do such crappy work.

This is a pretty common issue as the assemblers are not electricians and most likely do not know the orientation of the pins within the outlet.

Kinda looks like another example of that fine Amish craftmanship I hear about as well as a great example of Keystones inspection process.

Sorry I didn't pay attention to the orientation of the picture.

Looks like the plug is correct as the cord is hanging down. However the cover should be hinged at the top Easy fix Remove 4 screws and rotate it 90 degrees Problem solved!

Actually, the cord is installed sideways. If you notice the leaves on the ground in the photo, they are down and the plug assembly is installed to the left.

Before you remove the receptacle, take a picture of the pins AND mark the "tail" of the plug as it is connected. It does rotate in the socket just a little. Make sure it is rotated all the way before you mark it so when you disassemble it you know how much you need to rotate it before you reattach it.
Yeah, this picture is rotated too...

The outlet is keyed for proper orientation. The installer just needs to know where that key belongs along the circumference of the plug. A sparky would know that but maybe so should an assembly line worker as well if trained or shown during training.

Even the most rudimentary QC inspection at The factory would require the units to be plugged in and this mistake could be corrected. The same goes for the PDI at the dealer. It really makes one wonder.

The cover is in the right position but the twist lock outlet is 180 degrees out. You need to take the assembly apart and turn the receptacle 180 degrees and reassemble with the cover in the current position.

Both our air conditioners were installed backwards so I wouldn’t doubt it
