Just purchased new Montana 5th wheel

Hi,
My name is Jim Baisden and my wife Keri and I just traded in our 30 foot Cougar trailer for a new 2022 Montana 5th wheel that was on clearance. We added a 5500 watt propane generator, washer and dryer, and slider covers. We are pulling it with a 2022 ram 2500 with the 6.4 hemi and 4.10 gears. We are both retired now so hoping to do some more traveling in the western US.
We are located in Chapman, Oregon.

Congrats on the purchase!

We are enjoying our 2022 3231CK Legacy and added a few items:
5.5KW LP Onan Genny
Propane tanks to 40s,
200W solar panel (total 2 - 200W panels)
Li batts (2) 100 amp hours each
Brooklyn mattress (third mattress in 6 months like the Three Bears story), decided to go to a queen as the king didn't have enough room on the sides. Made 6" steps with storage for shoes placed on each side of the bed. My wife is 5'3" and needed that little extra step-up to get into bed.
Washer/dryer
Morryde 60% slide out cargo tray for the basement. My back is thankful.

Etc.

Welcome to the group and Happy Travels! I’m guessing there’s a lot more weight on ur Montana so just beware of your 2500 rear axle weight. Recommend u go thru the scales while towing and get some real numbers. The decision is yours from there. The 2500 will tow it fine but being overweight can have braking issues. I know because I have a 2018 3701lk and started w a 2500 and 6mos later went to a 3500 SRW.

Congratulations!!

Hi, Jim and Keri! We just purchased a Montana 3132CK in Texas last week and driving it, slowly, back to California...we sold our 32' travel trailer to upgrade to a 5th wheel and we can really feel the difference in towing! Have fun you two...and Happy trails!
