2015 Chevy Trailer Brake Problem
Last Sunday, I had the 2015 Duramax out for a short trip. It has not been driven much this winter as I have been recovering from hip replacement surgery mid January (All is well now). I started the truck and got a message to "service trailer brake system. I got to my destination and later restarted the truck and got the same message. Called the dealer and took it in for service. The morning that I was to head to the dealer, no message. I figured a code would be set in the computer.
After inspection, they found the 30 amp "special fuse" was blown. I told them that the last time it was hooked to a trailer was the end of October. I have both the Montana and a Big Tex tandem axle dump trailer. The truck was driven a bit since then, maybe 200 or so miles. No messages since then until now. They replaced the fuse and tested it on a 7 pin trailer that they have around and all was well again. I asked to see where this fuse was located and they showed me. It is the only pink one in the under-the-hood fuse box. The mechanic told me that if it happens again they would have to check out the entire wiring from front to back.
I was wondering if anyone else has experienced this problem.
