Cleaning Fiberglass Shower
Has anyone used McGuires Boat wax to keep the fiberglass shower clean and free of soap scum? I would think the Wax would work the same on the Shower being that it is Fiberglass.
No matter how on top of it my OCD wife cleans it we usually get soap build up running down the sides of the shower stall since we keep the soap and shampoo on the ledge, we even tried a rack on the wall but still happens this way too.

We use Fantastic on the shower. I have also discovered that Simple Green is a great shower cleaner. If you use wax in the shower won't that make it really slippery?

Only on the walls not waxing the floor, just want to make soap run down walls floor we use a clear rubber mat which helps keep floor clean

Liquid bath soap won't leave the scum like bar soap. It doesn't have the talc in it along with the other solids that make scum.

shower cleaning
I used a couple of those Mr. Clean magic eraser sponges (along with some spray cleaner don't remember what it was) on the shower and the tub this past weekend. It worked real good. I had to put some elbow grease to it but it got the job done.

DW bought a product called Enduro Shield glass treatment Two step process. She treated the fiberglass and the sliding doors before we ever used the shower. One and a half years of full time usage and have never cleaned the walls or doors. Still shine. She thinks she bought at HD
Now if I can find a way to keep the bottom shower door track clean I will be a happy camper

We just use a combo of Blue Dawn and either white or cider vinegar. We use equal amounts of each. We heat the vinegar first then put it in a large bowl or pot and then add the Blue Dawn. The hot vinegar will cause the Dawn to foam some that's why a bigger pot or bowl is used to mix the solution. When the solution cools we put it in a spray bottle and spray the tub/shower down and let it sit for about an hour or better. The vinegar smell gets a little strong but it is worth it. We then use a microfiber cloth to wipe it down and then use the shower head to rinse it all off and down the drain. This has worked for us for quite a few years now.
To clean the shower door track we use an old tooth brush and then rinse it. I have drilled some extra holes in the inside track for the water and everything to drain out easier. Works great for us!

Only problem is I absolutely hate vinegar smells so that will have to be a no go on that but I do appreciate you posting that though 😀

Rain-X
Barkeeper's Friend FOAM easily cleans off the residue. Then, I use Rain-X Shower Door water repellent.

What works great for me is Scrubbing Bubbles and a rag for a deep clean to remove all the soap scum. But after every shower I spray the walls and doors with Tilex after shower spray. This really keeps the soap scum away and we only use a light spray of Scruubing Bubbles on the bottom of the doors every other month.

Minerals in the water are the big problem.
We use the “On the Go “ softener.
Vinegar removes water spot build up also lots of products do the same.
Blue Dawn cuts oils. Not sure what boiling vinegar does so we don’t but this combination work great.

I go the complete different route, since they say your bathroom is the biggest culprit for mildew, and mold, I spray down the walls right when I am done with my shower, then I squeegee the walls and floor and rain glass doors down into the drain, and put the over head Maxx Air fan once I am not shivering and I am dry. The shower walls always look clean and dry and no scum. Plus I am assuming I am getting rid of 95% of the water down the drain, so it does not keep the bathroom moist, and keep the fan on for a while.

Vinegar, water, and dawn dish soap in a spray bottle works well in the tracks.

Gel Gloss
Once a year I clean it down with Mrs Meyers tile & counter cleaner and follow it up with a coat of Gel Gloss & buffed. I keep a squeegee and microfiber cloth in the shower. Each time we use it, we squeegee & wipe it down dry. Shampoo bottles and soap are kept in small containers on the shower floor when not in use and when traveling.
Hope this helps.

Using shower gel on a net scrubbie takes everything off in a jiffy. Just quick wash down the walls when you are done doing your shower and rinse with the shower head. No need for strong smelling chemicals and/or elbow grease. Do this periodically and your shower will look brand new indefinitely!
