I lived for a while in Port Authur while chasing the oil patch. If you get down to Bolivar send some pics. I am wondering what is left after all the storms they have had thru there.

We don’t have a lot of RV resort experience but this place is gorgeous. Privately owned spaces. We have stayed there twice before and it is a real Christmas treat for us. I have read the reviews about all the rules that some people have issues with but we seem to be within the rules anyway. Lots of Class A and 5th wheels.
I would recommend checking out their website and rules as that will give you an idea. I believe the rules and such are to help protect the private owners investment and tranquility. Palm trees, Christmas lights, golf cart, beers and campfires on the beach...Can’t wait!
Merry Christamas everyone

Port Authur and Bolivar is way too far North of Galveston for me to be able to report on it. We will Be in Port Aransas on Mustang island which is on the Corpus Christi side of the Gulf. Sorry but I will not be able to report.

I was curious how far in advance do you have to book Gulf Waters? I was thinking about heading there in February.

When I called last week they had 3 spots available for my time block requested. Guess it not only depends on availability but also your length of stay if that makes sense.

Went to Port Aransas about 8 years ago. Loved it. Trying to talk my wife into a month or two in that area.
If Virginia's restaurant is still there I recommend it.
Have a great trip.

I was there in August. The Saltwater Grill was pretty good.

We can remember the days when Port A was a sleepy little fishing village. We are hoping it does not built up too much and end up like Destin, FL.

God Bless Texas!

And that is why we love it. Especially this time of year. Not so many people.
