Flag Mount

I was considering mounting a flag holder to the top of the pin box, self tapping screws sealed with silicone. Is that ok or a big heck no don't do it..?

I’ve been thinking of doing the same thing. I don’t see any downside, but I’d like to hear some comments, too.

I did it with no problem! I drilled pilot holes, applied RTV cement when I installed mount. I centered it, helped guidin into hitch!

May not be exactly what you are looking at, but I bought 3 small stick flags, (12" by 18"); USA, Kansas, and Texas and a three mount holder and gorilla glued it to the pin box. The Kansas flag is for the home state, Texas is for the winter state.

I was looking at a double flag holder, The stars and stripes and my USMC flag. Thought about getting the flag pole to attach to the rear ladder, at 140.00 just tossing it around...

We do have a flag holder on the pin box.We are long timers and do not have the room to carry around a large flag pole.

Flag mount

I was going to put a flag mount on the pin box last summer but the sticker on the front (can’t find the pic of the sticker) said (basically) doing anything to this pin box will void the warranty. My warranty was up 6 weeks ago. I may put the flag mount on it now.

Rather than drill my pin box, I made this mount. Simply a piece of angle iron with holes drilled in it to fit over the bolts on the front of the pin box and two pieces of pipe welded on to hold two flags. I use c-clamps to attach it to the pin box. Different types of pin boxes might require a different design.

If you don't want to drill into your pin box, you can make a flag holder and mount it in your trailer hitch like I did. I just bought a blank hitch plate and drilled 4 holes to mount a standard flag holder.

FLAG QUESTION
If a flag is left in the holder does it make rattling sounds that can be heard inside the RV? I might want to leave the flag out at night with a light on it and I don't want to hear the staff rattling around in the mount.

We got one that quickly attaches to the ladder and can extend 6’ above roof. Easy up and down.

does the wind flapping flag scratch the paint job on the front of the 5r?
I think I like Vipermans idea on the back & extending away from the Monty.
