Converter

We had our original converter replaced, we found a problem with it shortly after taking delivery. So today I'm doing some mods and every once in a while I get a smell of something hot, like a motor that is starting to overheat. I final tracked it down to the new converter. without the fan running pulling in air i can smell Hot and feel heat at the grill. with the fan running nothing on the outside, but, when i opened the cabinet door under our sink ( fan blows into this compartment) i was hit in the face with heat and that same odor. I had 3 to 4 lights on and the fantastic fan. What do you you all think?

I'll have to look tomorrow as to the brand. About the fan when it's running it pulls air through the front ( the grill in the faceplate ) and out the back.

Since it is a new converter, call the manufacturer (they are typically warranted for two years). I would have it replaced as it seems that maybe the fan is not kicking in as much as it should. On ours, the fan hardly ever runs.

This is the replacement converter. The one that came with the unit was bad. The converter is a Inteli-power made by Progressive Dynamics model # PD4590k18L. I did call today and missed all the techs. Has anybody else noticed if their converter made by this company blows air out the front or sucks air in the front?

thanks kevin
