Jensen TV Code

Has anyone with DirecTv figured out what code should be used to control the bedroom Jensen TV with the DirecTv remote? I figured someone must have figured it out by now.

I have a Sylvania in the LR and none of the Sylvania codes work for it either. Direct tv told me some TV's just won't work with their remote.
I hope you have better luck than I did.

I was told the best way to check your code is supported is to try each code in sequence starting with 000, then 001, etc. Yup, this will be very time-consuming, but after 999, you'll know if it's not supported . That's a maximum of one thousand tries!. I would have a pencil nearby to prevent losing count. This way when you find it, tape the number to the remote for record sake.

The reason I mention this technique is because some manufacturers (like Jensen and Sylvania) will sell other manufacturers units and just put their name on it. Therefore, another manufacturers code might work and the best way to tell is to try each code in sequence.

Fortunately this happened to me only once a long time ago with an old universal remote with an older television. The tv remote had broken and I bought a universal as my first attempt to control 3 devices - a cable box, a VCR and the tv. I got to about one hundred something when I found the code. The other two devices were in the supported list. The remote worked okay because these devices didn't have too many features.

Dick says try 11933 or 11299 or possibly 10817. He isn't using the DirecTV remote because it doesn't do all of the functions. He did get it to work with one of those codes, but can't remember which one.

I have a Jenson 4208 TV (42" LCD) in our RV and Dish network sat.

I have found that there are no codes avaialable that allow our Dish Network control to work this TV. Very Sad..... We tried every method and code know to man to get one control to work this TV.

We are getting ready to replace the Tv as the sound is not very good either.

In reading some of the posts, the codes seem to be dependent upon the model of DTV remote and /or receiver you have.

I have the same problem and I have called Directv trying to get any of the numbers they list to work with no success. The third link (Jensen 3) listed by Jackel1959 above includes a very clear response from Jensen Tech Support as to what receivers and remote model numbers work with the number 11299. That is the first information I have seen that explains the problem clearly. So, the answer seems to be to get the listed receiver and remote control model numbers or get a self detecting 3rd party remote. That's what I plan on doing. Thanks for the thread.

Also, potential code numbers for various devices (TVs, VCRs, DVD players, and audio video receivers [including the Samsung receivers in newer Montys]) are available through the Directv receiver itself. Selecting "Menu/Setup/System Setup/Remote Control/Program Remote" will present the user with a multitude of manufacturers. Each brand has a number of possible codes listed. Under "TV" for "Jensen" the numbers listed are similar, but slightly different from the listing provided at the Directv link Oldguard found. One of the following worked for me: 10761; 10050; 10815; 10817; 11299; and 11933. It may have been 11299, given what Jensen Tech Support reported in Jack's link, but I don't remember.
