My 2955 had the same dead space. Now a nice cabinet for cookie sheets and other wide cooking trays. After I knocked out the panel, I ordered an oak door from Lowes, stained it and hung it with hinges that closely matched the originals.

I did the same as Carl, except being a remodeler for 45 years I had the Oak and stain left from other mods on the Monty for the door. Have to put a floor in the cabinet too, I had the bottoms of the drawers that I lengthened and put better slides on, so I used that. The way the micro vent fan works it is no problem with heat circulation. We use it to store tin foil & large boxes of baggies ect. You might have to lower the surface mount plug for the microwave to get the floor level.

Our 2010 has doors, but nothing holds the door open. I added struts to them, and now they stay open. DW is very happy.

Another place is under the fridge:

John I really like the struts have you had them long enough to get a feeling how they will hold up. if you think they are OK I want to order 4 sets.
Bear there is places all over the kitchen in mine that I have redone. You just keep looking you will find more. I don't know about the 2955 but look under the stove and refridgerater I found room under both.

Bobby,

The struts work fine, since DW keeps her cooking pots up there, the doors are opened many times a day.

Our unit had draw under the stove already. I got the idea for under the fridge from many of the members at the Mid-Atlantic Rally last year. Some put a wall in the back to hide the wires, I left it open in case I need to get back there.

Got another idea for you on the 2955. On mine, under the TV in the bottom compartment is some wasted space as far as I am concerned. I measured my space and went to Lowe's and got some wire shelving and put in a couple of shelves. Canned goods fit nicely (laying on side) in that compartment now...JB

We have a 2002 2955 not sure what may have changed over the years
The upper Kitchen cabinet on the right as you walk in the door and to the right of the sink has two doors. Ours came with a lazy Susan that i removed day two. I added a second shelf about mid way we store pots and Pans etc has worked well.
Also added two additional shelves above the pantry that is the tall cabinet to the left of the refrigerator we keep paper towel and light back up stock their
