What did you miss?

Getting ready to take delivery of our new 2019 Montana 3120rl. This will be our first NEW RV (several used units under our belts).

We have poured over and printed out several very good PDI check lists but from past experiences we know we have missed at least one or two items when we took delivery of past units.

Please share what item you didn't pick up on during your delivery orientation. Or things you wished you had ask about.

I missed a toilet that wouldn’t hold water. Called my dealer a day later and they sent a mobile repair to me.

On our old rig they tried to deliver it with a cracked front landing gear.

I would make sure you check all cabinets/trim really well. I didn’t notice scratches up under my counter on the island facing the kitchen table until I got home. Did not buy 5th wheel local so I took it to my local CW they turned into Keystone and Keystone denied the repair. Lesson learned the hard way. Also check the front cap for rock chips as those won’t get fixed either. All outside door latches Ihave one that was supposedly fixed but still not locking so going to have to take it back in.
Just my 2 cents.

I would push to camp on their lot for a night or two so you have the opportunity to take your time and check everything out.

If that is not possible, bring extra folks with you, make sure you check things with shore power and without. Hook water up and make sure it all works - run the water pump with hose unhooked and with some water in tank. Run the slides and level up, the TVs, stereo, fireplace and all the lights. Run the frig and water heater on gas and electric - have them turn the frig, furnace and water heater on the day prior so you know it fully gets cold/hot.

Ask lots of questions and take good notes - again another person or two really helps.

Do not get rushed to sign papers or write a check.

We have a 2019 3121RL. Check the rubber section of the gas line at the back of the kitchen slide. The one on ours was getting bent to an almost 90 degree angle (can't remember if in the slide in or slide out position) and would have damaged it soon. They adjusted the connection to correct. We love ours.

Make sure the fridge cools down on both gas and electric. Use a thermometer to check both compartments. Have them cool down the unit on propane before you get there.

open and close every door. flip every switch. pretend to dump each tank. ice maker makes Ice? Level it it on not so level ground. open every window. and like Zak said, before you say which one you want, have some friends join you shopping. We used to go shopping in packs for RVs. Lots of fun. make a list of things

Try stopping with just the trailer brakes while in the lot, if it is large enough to get some speed. Mine didn't do much with the gain at 10.

I recorded our dealer walk through so I didn't need to worry about forgetting anything we were told. Came in handy one or twice.

So true, then check for mislabeling on switches such as scare lights, hydraulic slides, etc.

Turn washer on to make sure water goes in. Also turn dryer on to make sure it is connected to the outside vent.

Get the dealer to show you the galley grey tank valve pull, otherwise you will NEVER find it.

Climb the ladder and visually check the roof. Hubs found some seams that needed additional sealing. The dealer took care if it prior to payment. We bought a new 3120rl last year. Love it!!
