Black Hills SD RV resorts

Planning a september trip out to SD this fall. Any recomendations on nice RV parks? We have stayed at Rafter J's, Palmer Gulch, Beaver Lake and RC KOA on previous trips, looking for somewhere new to stay

We stayed at Custer RV park, up a hollow where Custer had actually camped just prior to his going into the ages. From our pictures and historical photographs we could match up our RV site with Custer's tents just prior to that fateful day.

We have stayed at Hidden Valley but not others in the area so I can't compare. Hidden Valley was good but not great. Helpful staff, small game room, clean laundry room and convenient to Deadwood and the parks. No pool or cable if those are important. Sat TV limited due to trees.

We stayed at Heartland RV Park, Hermosa, South Dakota last summer. It’s a Passport America park and is very handy to activity’s in the area.

I stayed at Holy Smoke RV Resort last year. FHU plus cable and wifi. Keystone, SD. Kind of centrally located. Nothing fancy, but pretty level and some shaded sites. Clean and gravel roads, but in good condition.

Elk Horn Ridge RV Resort about 7 miles up the hill from Deadwood. Not cheap, but it is a very nice and quiet park, good amenities great location.

thanks for all the suggestions, think we've settled on Custer RV park, largest sites by far. I will post my review when we return in September. Heading down to Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort & Campground in a couple weeks, need some Florida sunshine

Is the Custer RV park you mentioned the same as Custer's Gulch RV Park? There's also a Custer Crazy Horse campground.

We spent a lot of time in Custer Park last summer but didn't check into camping there. We may have to check into that when we return in 2019.

We spent just over a week in Elkhorn Ridge RV in Spearfish SD. As someone else mentioned it wasn't cheap but a really nice CG. Sites were huge and spaced out nicely.
