Refrigerator Question

Our refrigerator is icing up on the cooling fins in the refrig and also some icing in the freezer. We thought it was a frost free refrigerator. Any thoughts? We are defrosting today and hope that the drain on the outside will take the water out. DH put a new drain in last week and used the "J" bend like someone else recommended here on the MOC. The frosting up has been going on for a couple of months now so that was not the problem. Thanks

I think they all frost up. When the humidity is higher, it frosts up quicker. In high humidity conditions we get a max of 3 months before we have to defrost. Keep an eye on where the water goes. It may not all go out the drain tube. Some can end up on the floor.

When it's real humid keeping the house closed up and running the AC helps prolong the time to defrost.

They are not frost free. You have to get a residential fridge for that feature.

I put a small battery operated fan on the top self net to the fins and this cut down on a lot of the icing.
