I have heard Ford has been getting their market back after recovering from ugly press on the 6.0 and to a lesser degree the 6.4, and the success of the 6.7. This chart would seem to support that although GM is not far behind.

Ford lost me as a long time Ford truck owner due to the 6.0 POS. With that truck I could never make a long trip without being towed. They do however make a nice looking truck.

Guess I'm in the minority, but I'm happy with my Dodge.

I think the 6.7 will end up being a very good motor for the Ford HD vehicles. Probably all of the "Big Three" have really good HD models produced in the past three or four years.

Oh, truck superiority banter is as American as apple pie. I am particularly entertained when the Powerstroke guys pull in and inform me of their 19 MPG trip towing a 15,000 pound fifth wheel. LOL!

Since these Trucks are pretty much the same it is marketing that makes the difference and Ford has a great marketing program. I will purchase any brand that meets my needs. We have had 2 Fords and two GM trucks all good trucks.
Correction 3 Fords and 2 GM trucks. But we live in Ford Country and we buy them with the Ford Family plan.

Oh yea, there are some pretty good stories out there about the 6.7 mileage. Had a 2012 F350 owner tell me he was getting 22 mpg on the highway consistently and over 15 mpg while snow plowing with his truck. I didn't believe it then, and after 43,000 miles on mine I sure don't believe it now!

.I have had my 6.7 since late 2011 and i do get 21 on the interstate. Towing I average 12 and 13. Guess I was one of the lucky ones with my 6.0. Put 120K on it and except for computer updates was never in the shop. Like others over the years, I have had trucks from all the big three, but all four of my diesels have been ford. Folks I have talked to love their dura max and cummins engines.

Well I will find out about the new 6.7, I pickup my new 2015 F250 tomorrow. Looked at all the stats and the 440 hp and 860 ft lbs torque sold me.

This is my 2nd Dmax and I guess I am brand loyal. My cars were Chevy's as well. With that said, I like the Fords and Dodges these days. Everyone's putting out a good product, that's for sure. I certainly can't HONESTLY make the mileage claims some are making with their 6.7 Fords. As much as I like the competitions' offerings, I doubt I'll give up the Duramax/Allison combo unless something catastrophic happens.

I have always wondered why folks are brand loyal. Had a family members that would only drive Oldsmobile's. We always picked our brand of vehicles based on need and price. In Autos we have had Ford, Chevy's Buck, Dodge, Plymouth, Honda, over the years. Trucks have been confined to Fords and Chevy.

Brand loyalty has gotten me some bigtime help on repairs out of warranty. In addition to brand loyalty there is dealer loyalty. They'll go to bat for you if they know you'll be back. Of course, you have to find the right dealer. Some wouldn't be loyal to their own mother.

When I buy a GM product, a small portion of the proceeds goes into my pension fund.

Went from a 2008 Ram 2500 to 2011 F350. The improvement in ride and interior creature comforts was night and day. Looked at a 2012 Ram 3500 but the payload capacity wasn't even close to the Ford. I understand that the new Rams have much improved towing and payload ratings but NEW wasn't in the budget.

Interesting replies. Out of all the vehicles we have had over the years we only purchased our two Ford F-350's from the same dealer. We have had our vehicles in dealerships all over the country and never like in the Rv industry, been turned down because we did not purchase it there. We now have a Ford dealer in Florida and a Ford Dealer in Ohio that does regular service and Warranty work on our Ford truck with never a issue. On "My Ford" one is listed as purchasing dealer and the other as Service dealer.
I like all the trucks however living in Ford Country here in Northern Ohio the Ford friends and family plan discount is easy to come by. I buy Fords because I get then for a very good price. If the Chevy dealer would match the price I would just as well buy a Chevy or a Dodge..
