I posted a message awhile back about the damage being done to the propane pipe in my TT where it passed by the shackles. I don't know if this is a problem in TT's only, specific models of TT or what.
After taking the pipe off and replacing it, I found that it would take very little pressure to puncture the pipe where the damage had ocurred. Scary!!!!
Keystone authorized repairs and I opted to do the work myself (easier than dragging the TT to a dealer). Keystone is supposed to reimburse me.
The damage was right under the furnace on the TT and I can just see the furnace being turned on while the pipe is leaking.
The problem I see is that there has not been one utterance about this problem to it's customers from Keystone.

That's it...we ever get another rig and I'm coming to see you Ozz.
You've found more things that it's hard to even fathom.

We had the same issue when we got ours. We moved the line just a minor amount and put water pipe insulation around it so it wouldn't chafe through. Very poor design, and very dangerous!!

Since the factory is so good about fixing things, how much do you suppose it would cost for us, when we buy our Montana, to take it back to the factory and ask them to rebuild it correctly and safely? Since I'm not a mechanic, I fear we may have to do that.
WOW!
Glad you found that Ozz.

Larry, most of these things are a simple fix, just pull up a stool, look at it for a while and you will figure something out. That's all the rest of us do.

Darrell, If you still have the leak, what is the dealer doing? This is nothing to fool around with, needs to get fixed quickly. If you want to check it your self, make a mixture of dishwashing liquid and water about 25% dishwashing liguid. If you have a smal spray bottle out it in there, if not use a brush. Spray or brush on the mix on to each connection and look for bubbles, that's where the leak is. Start at the tanks, regulaters, and work your way down to the pipes under the rig. If need be back up to the stove, Fridge, hot water tank, and furance.
Hope this helps.
And by all means keep flames, sparks, electricity, off and away from the rig until its found and fixed.

I found the same problem on our 3400. I wrapped a piece of old hose around the propane hose and secured it with strap ties.

I just fixed mine this past weekend using the foam pipe insulation. It did a nice job, but while under there I noticed that there is a space between the nuts on the end of the slide cylinder. Is this normal? On the rod side before the bracket, there is a nut and a jam nut that are tight. On the outside of the slider bracket with the room out, there is about an inch space and then a single nut. That single nut also appears tight, so maybe it is suppose to be that way, but I would think that with the threads dragging across the bracket everytime the slide goes in and out, it would eventually wear through the bracket. At least it can't be good for it, or the rod for that matter. After checking the other slides, I see the rod for the main room is adjusted the same way. Is this the norm for yours?

01RAMer, I will have to check mine, but as a suggestion, you might start a new thread with this question.

01RAMer, I think this to be normal. It appears to be an adjustment for the proper opening and closeing of the slide room. At least thats what the big boys down at the poolroom told me.

Check the "manual" that came with your coach from Lippert. They specify the adjustments for the piston rod on the slideouts. If I remember (Hah) they recommend a gap between the end nut and the bracket on the slide.
I guess the piston has to get a head start.

Hmm, guess the manual would be a good place to start, but it goes against the first rule of manliness, "If all else fails, read the manual", so natually I didn't do that yet.
