Bunk Beds in the 319BH

We just bought our new 2005 Mountaineer 319BH. This RV has adult size bunks. But the bunk bed mattresses are shorter than the platform for the mattress. By about 3 inches. Is this normal. I requested the dealer to find out from Keystone what the actual mattress size is supposed to be. I find it unusual that the mattress would be too short. Its almost like these mattresses don't belong to the trailer. The dealer says they are correct. But I'm not sure I believe them. If anyone could tell me if the mattresses fit tight (lengthwise) that would be great. Thanks,

I can't answer your question, but I find it very difficult to believe that you "don't believe your dealer". Ha Ha

We have the 318BHS which is basically the same floorplan and the mattress is about 4 inches shorter. We looked at this model at several dealers and several shows and they were all short. The Keystone rep at one show said it was that way because of the shelf and being able to make the bottom bunk without the shelf getting in the way. It made sense so I hadn't thought about it again until I saw your post.

just unhooked our 319BHS (2006) for the first time, the neighborhood kids are checking it out, so I went out and investigated the mattress comment - they're still 4 inches short in the 06 as well.

I surmise that you need to be able to move them some to make them....haven't tried that yet.

Peace,
Don
