furnace vent covers

Sometime back I remember reading about a way to make magnetic covers for the furnace floor vents to keep them clean when not in use. I believe it involved cutting a linoleum type floor tile to fit and glue to some type of magnetic sheet from an office supply store. I searched and could not find the thread. Also, how do you cover the small round furnace vent in the bathroom? TIA.

You can buy magnetic vent covers on line, just go to Amazon and type in magnetic vent cover. I just insert ones that close from Loews and then take them out and put the others back in when winter comes.

I don;t recall anyone making a magnetic vent cover. But many have mentioned buying them. Look here:

I replaced ours with ones from HD/Lowes that close. They keep most of the debris out of the ductwork

I’m new to the forum today and can’t see where to post a question about my grey tank drains. I know this isn’t it. Sorry

Same here and they look better than OEM.

I bought this off Amazon, cut them to the correct size. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I got this stuff (like a thick contact paper) from Lowes or HD and covered the magnetic material. It is a close match to our floor.

Johnny, I don't think I showed you the vent cover in our bedroom. I can adjust the air flow from full open to closed. I did this because the furnace blower was very close and the air flow into the bedroom was to high for comfort. Easy replacement that I found at Home Depot--just measure your existing vents or take one with you.
