Fall Rally

I was amazed to see this evening that there are 40 who have not paid the fees and the deadline is Sept 1st that is like 16 days away. It sounds like that Sept 1st deadline is pretty firm as the unused sites have to be returned to the campground by that time. I know how that works as I was the wagon master for our local camping group for a few years and that two week notice was always in the contract between the club and the campground. The campgrounds want to be able to rent out those sites to other campers and need the advance notice. I would not count on the MOC to be able to talk the fairgrounds into a extension.

Being last year's wagon master I'd echo what Rich says. I was warned last year that they were changing management and would be changing policies. You notice we were one of the first to pay. That's because I didn't want to wait and screw it up somehow. I would strongly advise those who haven't paid to do so rather than test what we've been told is the way it has to be.

Why wait until last minute?

Some of us have legitimate reasons for waiting. I have some medical issues that will not be resolve/decided until next week. Not that I need to explain myself to anyone.

Not to mention I have several people who haven't filled out their questionnaire - and that 5 minute task doesn't cost a dime.

Everybody's lives have different stressors we just don't know what they are and shouldn't. Ourselves we need to verify a work schedule next week since refunds sound challenging so we decided to wait on payment until I can verify its still possible. We have completed all the pre-rally knowing without these people there would be no rally. Thank you all for your hard work!

Good points, challenges come to all of us from time to time. I think we were posting basically for folks who don't understand it won't work like it used to.

My thought was that some folks may have forgotten or do not look at the rally section. It was intended to be a memory jogger.

Rich & Dick my response was not to your comments realizing, they were memory joggers. Two years ago I was in the same predicament, signed up for the rally, pd my $50 and than had surgery. No refund no big deal. I figured the rally could use the contribution. This year at $220 I have to wait.
