Cookie and I begin our workamper experience 2 weeks after she retired in March. We spent the season on the Snake River outside of the Tri Cities, WA. We expect to go back in late March '07. I broke my leg and so the good woman did the work of 2, while I covered the office.

We begin FT at the same time and have spent the fall and beginning of winter here in WA and OR with the kids (6) and the 14 grandchildren. We are headed S to AZ the day after Christmas. We have had it with the rain and snow. Let me see the sun, and the none RV'rs can eat the cake.

Everyone have a Merry Christmas and good New Year.

May your Montana travel safe.

John & Cookie

Hey, I'm in the Tri-Cities. Where are you? It sounds like you are at Hood Park?

I guess you could say that Shari & I are workcamping. We are still working (ugh!) until we retire 22 March 2007, but we're living in our Montana 2980RL since we sold our home in November. The camping part is great, the work part isn't.

We volunteer at two state parks in the Florida Keys, usually from November until March. We are presently at Curry Hammock State Park,in the Keys, preparing the park for opening November first. We have been volunteering at Long Key State Park, also in the Keys since 2003.Twenty hours a week for a free campsite backed up to the Atlantic Ocean and no cold weather.

There are some of us, though we could use the extra money, find ourselves too busy being retired and volunteering with different charitable organizations to work camp. We, Marge and I, spend a lot of time helping small churches with their websites, setting up their computers and just generally being of whatever kind of help we can be.

What camp ground were you at? We were there at Howell station 2 times this summer and hotter then you know what both times. We still enjoy the area though.

Don and I have been workamping since 2000. We both spent 4 years in various jobs at the COE at Saylorville Lake in Iowa. Don has worked the last 2 summers at Adventureland in Altoona, IA (lots of Montanas there) and I have been working at Wal-Mart in Ankeny, IA for the last 6 summers. Our families are here, so we have the best of both worlds, spend time with them, and play in the winter. Hope to bum around alot this winter. Judy

Rick and I have been workamping at A&A Mesa Verde RV Park across the highway from the entrance to Mesa Verde National Park, CO. We have been here since the end of July and are leaving Nov. 1 for our home in Georgia. This is our first workamping experience and we have loved it. We're looking forward to workamping again next summer hopefully in upper state NY, PA or New England. We have worked just for our site and have had plenty of time to explore the area.

We have been work camping for 4 winters in Ft. Myers, FL. 2 summers in IA, 1 at Storm Lake City Campground. This last summer in Amana Coloines Rv Park, Amana, IA.

We meet allot of Montana owners as the dealer we bought our unit from has a big camp out with his customers there, twice a year.

We also meet some very nice MOC members there that has came up for the Oktoberfest. They were from KS but I can not remember there names. Was very nice of them to stop by & say HI to us. Sorry Your names didn't stick!!!!!!!!!

This is our second winter workamping in our 2005 3685FL. We are now in Mesa Az, working at Monte Vista Resort. Our summer job was at Jackson Wy. working at Luton's Teton Cabins. We overlooked the Grand Tetons which was gorgeous. In 2006 we worked at Disney World and 2006 summer was at Cooperstown NY. Hoping to continue for many years.

I guess you could say we are workamping. My girl and I are about 20 years from retirement so we decide not to wait. We will be fulltiming starting Dec 27 in Grande Prairie, AB. I am in hospital administration and my girl is a paralegal. We have been RVing for over 10 years and decided on a new 3650RK to fulltime for the next several years. I know some of you are wondering about the RV and northern Alberta being in same sentence. However, we like most everyone else, have moved south to enjoy our RV. We are moving south by about 1000 miles since we have been in the Alaskan bush (way off the road system) for the past 2 years. Looking foreward to warmer weather (warmer than -40F).

Hi, we are workamping in Lenoir City, TN., putting up exterior Christmas decorations on homes & businesses. After going home for Christmas, we will be coming back here to take down those decorations. Then we are headed to Edinburg, TX. to spend the rest of the winter resting in the sunshine. Next summer we will be working in northern MI. at Mackinaw Mill Creek campground.

Hi all, I was just reading all of your posts and noticed that most of you know where you will be working months in advance, where do you find these jobs if I may ask?
Thanks in advance. And Merry Christmas to everyone..!!

Well, my hubby found his job then we decided instead of buying property in another country right off the bat that we'd just buy another fifth wheel and full-time for a year or two.

I wish we were someplace warm. We have about 2" of snow on the ground and the temp is 26°, but the snow could be deeper and it could be colder. LOL
