You are still a good trouble-shooter, just insure that the new converter has the 'smart charge', or the 3 level charge.
Depends on how many batteries you intend on having, looks like there is around 40-$50 difference in the higher amperages.

On the 2007 models the converter only has a single stage charger but you should be able to plug in a IQ smart charger to change it to a 3 stage charger and it will maintain your batteries better. You can find them at most RV suppliers.
Description - Manual The IQ Smart Controller offers automatic charging control for all DLS Battery Chargers. It allows the DLS Charger to operate as an automatic 3-stage “smart charger” that gives the customer the benefit
of Bulk, Absorption, and Float stage charging, providing longer and safer use of your system's battery. The IQ Smart Controller is compatible with any DLS Battery Charger model and is covered under IOTA's standard Two-Year Warranty.

With a 3 stage charger it would be no problem.

Well, I checked the specific gravity of the battery, and it's at 1275 in all cells. The converter has two 35 amp fuses in the back, that are good. I believe all the conections are tight, so, a new converter seems to be the only thing left. I found the same converter on-line, that I have (55amp). Is there any value in getting a higher amperage unit?

I was thinking, if the charger got your battery fully charged, it can't be the converter. If the lights still dim when more than two come on with a fully charged battery and 1275 in all cells, there has to be something else wrong. Maybe a loose wire causing a poor connection?? I would pull the fuse box and check all the connections on the back of it. (12 volt panel) All my white wires were finger tight when I bought my 3400RL on that panel.

I wanted to check all the connections last night, but I only had a phillips screwdriver with me, and it requires a robertson bit. It was getting too dark, so, I'll check it tonight. Thanks for everyone's input. This forum "rocks".

My 12 volt lights where dim when not hooked to shore power for awhile then they stopped working all together it was the 50 amp short stop breaker that was getting weaker then it failed. It is the one that feeds the 12 volt panel from the battery.

All conections were tight. I replaced the 50a breaker, that controls the slides, earlier this year. I will replace the other one next. It's cheaper than replacing the converter. Maybe I'll get lucky.
