It made a difference

After a year and a half, I took the fireplace fascia off and removed the fireplace, opened it up, checked all the wiring and did general cleaning. I found one of the six light bulbs was burned out and replaced it. I cleaned and dusted the front glass and the rear reflective surface, dusted as much of the inside as could be accessed and put it back together.

It really made a difference. It brightened up the whole appearance of the fireplace. Now that will be one more thing to add to the annual preventative maintenance list.

Sailer,

We had the same issue with our 2009 3400rl. I called dimplex and told them the problem. They sent a new part and are haveing a mechanic out to install it next Wednesday. It seems to be a design flaw with the newer fireplace units.

Sailer,

I had the same problem with my Dimplex. I called the manufacturer, gave them the model/serial # and they sent me a new thermostat control switch and a new lower control panel that is supposed to improve air control.
