Refrigerator front wood panel falls off!

This is a heavy wood panel on the front of the refrig held up by a clip-on plastic piece. The plastic piece either breaks or just pops off and the panel crashes to the floor or hits the handle of the drawer below. We sent it in for repair and they just put another plastic piece on. Montana main office says that the only fix they know of is to use a caulk around the panel. Doesn't sound convincing to me. Anyone have the problem and solution?

I had the same problem on another trailer. The plastic piece was held in place by 3 or 4 screws which held the weight of that wood panel. After bouncing around on the highways, it didn't take long to break that plastic piece.

The plastic support was 3/4" x 3/4" by whatever length. I just bought a piece of 3/4" aluminum angle from Home Depot, cut it to size and drilled matching holes. Never had a problem after that.
