Alderwood RV - Mead, WA

We picked this CG because it was rated really high and we needed a night around Spokane WA. They assured us that they could easily handle a 39' fiver. Based on $40 plus per night we thought this would be a really nice pick. WRONG! It is a clean and well paved RV park with numerous pull through sites that are about 60' long. Problem is the original sites are 23' wide with all kinds of thick bushes and trees dividing each one. In reality you only have about 15 or 16 feet width, which means you have to push your slides out into the limbs and brush. On top of that bring plenty of sewer hose and try to figure out a way to run it uphill. All in all this would be okay for a one night stop if it was priced about $20 - $25. Lots of kids and barking dogs also. IMHO should only be rated about 5 or 6 for bigger units.

I have found Google Earth to be a good tool to see the surrounding area and the park or campground.

Good info. Thanks for sharing.

Next time you are in the area for a a bit longer, check out Spokane RV Resort up in Deer Park. It is roughly 12 more miles north of Alderwood and well worth the extra few miles. www.spokanervresort.com

The Elks have a nice RV park at a very reasonable rate.

The night before we head out I always check Google Earth for the next campground. I like going down to the street view and seeing what the entrance looks like. This CG did look like some of the sites were narrow but it was hard to tell just how narrow. I have made a note of all the aforementioned suggestions of other CG's in the area if we ever visit the area again. Thanks everyone.
