Good game. Definitely could have gone either way. What a catch by Kearse. As a Pats fan, all I could think of at that moment was the Tyree catch in '08. Bad karma among us faithful fans. Then the interception. Talk about high's and lows. Pete Carroll will be explaining that play call for a long time. Good for the Pats. Can't wait to hear how they cheated this time.

The fight at the end of the game, should have been avoided.

I am really not a fan of either team, but I am not sure if I was the owner of the Seahawks that I wouldn't fire my coach! You have probably the best running back in football and you can't trust him to win the game at the end?

I agree with Michael, the fighting at the end, when the game was basically over, was downright disrespectful. Aren't the Seahawks the most penalized team in football? IMHO....most penalized = undisciplined = lack of coaching = stupid fight at the end of a Super Bowl.

Sorry bigskyjimmy, but you had to be a little embarrassed by their conduct at the end.

I just witnessed the worst play call in NFL history!!!! Well maybe tie with the Eagles / Giants game years ago. All the Giants needed to do was take a knee to win, they ran a play fumbled and Herm Edwards ran it back for a TD for the win.

I have to take a different viewpoint. Lynch had been stopped for no gain several times thru out the game. But everyone (well almost everyone) expected Lynch to get the ball. Had the pass been completed for the TD then the playcaller(s) would have been praised for their deception. Due to an exceptional play by a little known defensive back who just happened to guess right, it turned out to be a wrong call.

I agree. That's what football is all about. Out coaching the other team often involves doing the unexpected. You can't ask for much more than an outstanding catch that appears to put the game away followed by an outstanding play that does. Seldom does a game cause the expectations of both teams fans to be deflated (pun intended) within the last seconds of a game.

I agree with coaches doing the unexpected and trying to outsmart the opposing coach in most cases. But I still think when the Super Bowl is on the line you have to go with your high percentage play to pick up that 3 feet. But on the other hand that is why I am not a coach but just another old retired RVer.

Aside from the conduct at the end of the game, really exciting finish no matter which team you were cheering for and the fans couldn't ask for more from a Super Bowl.

Pass at the end would have been okay if the play was designed so that the pass was away from most of the pats and towards the side line. A pass into the majority of defenders? Sounds like a high school play to me. It's not like seattle was on a fourth down play... john

Pete Carroll is in the headlines, but the OC, Darrell Bevell, called the play.

That was our thought too swanny ,we just don't get it, but like Wilson said one INT will not define his career, He and the team is still young and we will be back

They had many options at that point. A bootleg might have worked, or a fade to the corner of the end-zone if you're going to throw. I think they out-smarted themselves. I can't see the Pats stopping Beast-Mode with a couple more shots from the one. That was the play, in my opinion, they should have run. But, I'm quite satisfied with the choice they made.

On the NFL radio channel yesterday this got a lot of play. The facts are that the Beast tried from the 1 five times this season and only made it in once. 109 passes were thrown from the 1 this season by all teams with zero interceptions. The Seahawks only had one time out so a likely plan was pass, run (if it doesn't go in call time out) then run again. I thought it was a dumb call too until I saw the stats. Fake and bootleg still sounds like the best idea, but if you're stopped with only one time out then what.

Another statistic from the past season: The Patriots gave up 5 rushing touchdowns in 6 tries from the one this season. Perhaps that stat was lost on the Seahawks. Oh, well, good game. It's a shame that is the only part everyone's talking about. For good reason though.

Too bad those stats haven't been seen by everyone. Then maybe the monday morning quarterbacks would shut up.

The thing is too people are not talking about is we Allowed the Pats to come back from 24-14 AND it took a miracle catch from Our Jermaine Kearse to even be in the position to win the Game ,And if that play did work on the goal line all of a sudden it would have been a brilliant play call,THAT'S Football Folks and it was fun to watch and the better team Won,We are Young team and will be back in the Hunt next year as well
