Slide Issues
I was opening up Monty yesterday and the bedroom slide was fully out and the livingroom slide was just starting to move and it just stopped I let go of the switch and waited a couple of seconds and tried it again and it worked then when the other living room slide started to come out it stopped for a second or two and then went out all the way. Any ideas on what is going on. This hasnt happened before. I was nervous about trying it again in case it wouldnt go out we needed the space for the weekend. Thanks for any ideas you might have.

It's the auto reset circuit breaker. Many of us have had to replace them. Some times you can replace it with another 50 amp breaker and solve the problem, at least temporarily. Many of us have also replaced ours with either an 80 amp breaker or two 40 amp breakers wired in parallel. I don't remember all the posts about it. But a search should give you lots of reading about it and some pictures about how to solve the problem.
Edit:
Here is one thread.
Here is another.

There is a resettable breaker in your battery compartment that the hydraulic pump is wired to.
I would guess it is getting old and needs replacing.
I do not have a photo but know others do. It is silver and has two studs with nuts, the battery is wired to one side and the hydraulic motor to the other.
Good luck and let us know what you find.
Your symptoms describe the breaker tripping then resetting when it cools or the load is removed.

Here is what ours looks like after the mod. The breakers for the slides are the ones one the left with the red covers. There was only one breaker there originally and I added the second. A very easy install and upgrade. Lippert has two fix recommendations. One is the single breaker and the other is the dual breaker. If you want the step-by-step procedures for both, PM or e-mail me with your e-mail and I will send you the PDF documents.

You can get the 40 amp breakers at an anto parts store such as NAPA. An RV store will probably also have the 50 amp units.
Wire and lugs at home improvement store, electrical supply, or hardware store.
Rather than wire to connect the two, I bought some very short buss bars about 3" long with several holes in them at Lowes. Just right to span across and connect the two breakers together.

Might be a dumb question, but were you using the wireless switch or the hard wired one? I know on ours, when using the wireless remote, the slides start and stop all the time.

I like BB_TX idea of the brass buss bars. That might have simplified my wired installation. I wired mine like Jack's. Either way the upgraded breakers works great. No more starting and stopping.

Steve, before you spend the money, may I suggest you lubricate the slide mechanisms unless you already have done so in the fairly recent past. If they need lubrication, there will be more drag/resistance, requiring higher amperage to move them. That can exceed the rating of the breaker and pop it, causing exactly what you describe.
If lubrication is not the problem, then the higher larger breaker may be needed. Just thought I'd mention it in case it can save you some money.

Thanks Steve,
I sprayed the T1 lubricant on a couple of weeks ago.I am going to try the new breakers when I get back to town.I did manage to bring in the slides today. I stopped every few seconds and it only stopped once.

Did Keystone ever up the breaker rating in production?

Here is a picture of how I connected my two 40 amp breakers. I used two short (3 screw) buss bars (available at Home Depot or Lowe's in the load center/circuit breaker area). I left the screws in and tightened them down to make it essentially a solid bar. Then I just put the holes in each end of the bars over the screws on the breakers. I put large heat shrink tubing over the bars to provide some protection. I did not have a crimper large enough for large gauge wire, so this was the easiest solution for me.
Edit: Actually now that I think about it, I may have bought 5 screw bars and cut them off a little. Been longer than my memory allows for.

I got back to Minneapolis today and spent a lot of time shopping for the necessary parts for the fix. It was interesting how the prices varied from dealer to dealer (boat and RV dealers)
the hard thing to find was the 6 guage connectors with the small opening.Going back to the lake place tomorrow and I will try to make the fix.I will let you know if it corrects the problem. Thanks for all of the advise. PS I called Lippert and they told me they had never heard of this problem yet they have giving advise on how to fix it ??

I bought the parts to make the fix on the breakers.Does anyone know the best and cheapest way to crimp the 6 guage wire on the eyelets. I dont want to spend a couple hundred on the crimping tool. Would there be a place I could take it and have them do it?
Thanks Steve

Steve,
I just stuck mine in a bench vice to crimp them.

I found a hydraulic crimping tool at Harbor Freight and it worked great. I put the two new 50 amp breakers in today tested it a few times with no issues. Thanks to all for the advise.
