Converter Replacement

Looks like I'm going to replace my OEM converter, fan stay on all the time. Called Iota tech support said must be weak circuit board. It's a IOTA 55 amp as I said OEM. Should I use the same style for ease of install or would there be a benefit to another brand and should I up the AMPs? I now use the smart charge add on to the Iota. We have an 2005 2955rl and run 30 amps hook up at most CGs.

Replacing your model would be fine in my opinion based on what you posted. I bet the little sensor is stuck for the fan. Try un-plugging it, cool it off and then plug it in. Might rap it with a scredriver handle also...

If you do have to replace the unit, I think it depends on what kind of camping you do. The stock 30 amp converter is fine if you usually camp where you have electrical hookups. If you dry camp a lot and use a generator a little each day, a 60 or 80 amp inverter will charge your battery faster, requiring less generator time.

Ozz I'll give that a try.

If it needs to be replaced believe I'll stay in the middle of the road sizeing, we use CGs 75 precent of the time.

Looks like Progressive Dynamics converters may be a step a head of the Iota. Other on MOC have moved toward Progressive products also. If anyone has negative feed back I'd like to hear from you about the Progressive products.
